Community Reviews

Milwaukee's M12 Fuel 6 inch pruning hatchet is a compact cordless mini chainsaw that stands out for fast, easy limb trimming and one handed use. It has been praised for cutting limbs effortlessly, handling hedges and oak trees well, and holding up through heavy use over years. The bundle is especially attractive because it includes two 5.0Ah batteries and a charger, with the batteries alone seen as valuable. The main hesitation is that it is not hackable, and a few comments point to cheaper alternatives or question long term reliability. A strong fit for light yard work when portability matters.

This seems like a hell of a deal to get into the Milwaukee ecosystem. I've been wanting a 1/2" stubby torque wrench for some time. Are these the right batteries for that?
Currently High Output XC 5.0 (48-11-2450) batteris are the most powerful and the latest technology batteries available for M12. They provide the highest max continuous amps at 50A (peak burst 70A) which is higher than XC 6.0 (48-11-2460).

REDLITHIUM XC 6.0 (48-11-2460)
Max continuous amps: 30A
Peak Burst Amps: 45A

Milwaukee claims 25% more power and 25% cooler than other M12 XC batteries.

I have zero need for this and rent a tiny studio apt. Tell me why I could need an an awesome handheld chainsaw!
It's better to have it and not need it, than to need it and not have it.

The M18 Fuel tool only version is also on a hackable BOGO deal. $170 if you return the impact driver on the deal.

Now to figure out which is more worthwhile for my minor household needs? M12 for the few times a year I could possibly use it or M18 to be a power hog.
How do you get the $170 for the M18?

I'm assuming he's talking about this https://a.co/d/0ar8OC5q which I didn't know existed. I think I'll give it a shot for $37 bucks. If it sucks, I'll have learned a lesson lol
Yeah have fun with that one. Only a handful of reviews and almost all were given the item for free. I'll spend some more money and get a dependable tool with a great warranty and good batteries instead of taking my chances with that cheaply made one.

Yes that's it. Works great and I use it to trim my oak trees.

Don't know that I would call it fun, it is yard work after all! But it works great on my oak trees. I also have the Dewalt version that is kept on a different property, it works the same and neither one have failed.
