Those who know, just know.
But this needs to specify that the minutes, texts, and data is the grand total for the whole year, not monthly.

The reason why this needs to be explained in detail is that it is not normal for cell phone plans to do it this way.

After a year does it automatically unlock? And can it then be used on T Mobile?

Was it a G Power or the 4GB/64GB Moto G?

* Looks like the 2025 G is 4/64GB, 2024 is 4/128GB (w SnapDragon 4 Gen 1)

Motorola Moto G 2024, 5G, 64GB, Blue

Listed as 8 gb ram. If it turns out not to be, I'll return it.

The Moto G only has 4GB RAM, even the 2026 model. Moto G Power 2024+ have 8GB RAM.

Yeah, this is a little confusing but if it can be returned if it doesn't turn out to be 8G ram then I'll give it a try. Thanks for the post and the comments.

This Tracfone model Moto G Power 2024 is eSIM capable for anybody curious. It's unclear to me if you would be able to sideload a secondary eSIM from another carrier in addition to the physical Tracfone SIM that comes with the phone before the phone is unlocked.

Yes, mostly because this has been this price for several months. "staff" reposting deals is an issue around here.

It *should* automatically unlock, but with Tracfone that is a gamble. Once unlocked, yes, this can be used on T-Mobile.

Bought it last month from Walmart last time it was posted. When I bought it I was told by the sales clerk in the electronics section that the phone can't be returned. I really didn't care because if the plan works for you it is much cheaper than what the sell the plans alone for.
I use it as a backup phone and was replacing a 2021 Moto G Power I bought back in late 2022 for about the same price.
There are a lot of ways to find fault with this phone but it was a huge upgrade from the 2021 model, and as a backup it is good enough . The camera isn't great but it is good enough for my needs since I don't do social media but use it to document situations or copy the numbers off a name plate on machinery when needed.

This phone and plan isn't for everyone but if it can fit your needs then it is okay. If you split the cost between the plan and phone then the year's service is a little over $20/month. The phone should get updates into 2027, I can get at least 2 years service which breaks down to about $2/month cost for the phone. I made it about 4 years on the 2021 Moto G Power.

I have a back up phone since I live and work in rural settings with weak cell signal and working in the areas I do it can be easy to lose or damage a phone and I'm self employed so I don't get a work and personal phone.

I don't use them that much as a phone but more as a pocket computers and have both synced to GV and other Google apps which I rely on daily. So I can use either phone and know all incoming calls to GV will come to both without knowing the number of each cell phone.
Given I work in harsh environments if it breaks or gets lost it isn't that bad of a replacement cost if needed. I would love a flagship phone but it would cost much more to replace a flagship phone or even a rough use phone than it does to replace a Moto G phone. And as many faults the Motos have done what I need.

Also if you need extra data TracFone (Verizon) has dropped the price on extra data if needed. It isn't to be 1GB for $10, now it is 3GB/$10. Other companies change from $2/GB to $15/GB for extra data . So buying extra data isn't that bad of needed any more.
Since I have weak cell signal have a VoIP phone at home and recently started using WiFi calling on the cell phones to have better reception within WiFi range. I usually use the other phone for calls since that plan has unlimited talk but if I need to use the TracFone I do use it but try to limit to short talk times on it.

In rural areas redundancy does come in handy at times.

Changes from $49.98 to $85.47 in checkout, what am I missing?

edit: it went out of stock at the location I had selected between adding it to the cart and checking out. You may need to change your store if you're seeing the wrong price.
