Just get a new case then. The case looks bad but that's just my own opinion.
This is an option. I moved the entire guts to a new case a few times. Also moved everything except motherboard because I needed full an ATX board's extra PCI-E slots.

All PC modders that are getting this - just keep in mind the following - you need to keep the machine whole in original configuration if you need Warranty Service..

Scalpers have been using that so certain retailers will not permit Delaware purchases. Also if you don't live in Delaware you could get in hot water for tax evasion. Don't recommend this
In practice no body gets in trouble shopping from another state. Otherwise inter-state travel would be impossible.

I think shopping nornally while going thru Delaware is normal. What you're describing is actually more like a Freight Forwarding service which is a real business in Delaware Smilie

Usually a setup-fee $140
May require incorporation but not aways (whatever this cost is, legalzoom used to be $80?)
Then it's a forwarding fee per package (by weight)
Roughly $50 bucks to send a PC box of this weight - sometimes you can pick your own shipper agreements for lower cost.

Tax on this deal around $250-$400 depending on your state so the cost of forwarding service is paid off on the first machine in theory.

This deal has 69 TU so far. lol.

Yeah setting up a business there is streamlined with many services. The value involved needs to be high to break even. Also don't forget the costs of round trip costs of gas, tolls for bridge and highway, and time.

At some point it might just be as practical to rent an apartment there. Like around the local university in the suburb that may have very affordable housing, even better with ones that has an attendant that will collect packages.

It's def not easy psychologically since it's $4000 GPU and everyone calling for bubble and people think the price will crash down but evidence continues to say the GPU prices are ALREADY RISING from the various reports in the past week. new memory making CXMT isn't gonna help fast enough either.

My CC bill on PC purchases will be 26K next month! Joy of 5090 hunting.

for local LLM vs.Online - the pay off isn't there for 99% of the users, you will always be better off in cost if you use online models and they are definite better than any local models. The only time local AI will come out ahead on cost will be video generation per my experience.

If you really want local AI, 27B is best. 35B AoE is next best and uses less VRAM.

Qwen 3.8 27B is the best sweet spot now overall, this will run just fine. Smaller models look pretty weak in comparison but you can run 35B MoE A3 off of 16GB RAM.

There is nothing like a 32GB (or penny's 96GB VRAM though).

You can also double up on 16GB cards for 32GB, I ran 5080+5070 TI also if you have slimmer 2 card or 2.5 card height GPUs and Mobo is enough and use a 1200w PSU.

Performance is ok and great to be able to do 32GB VRAM for around $2500 max cost across 2 cards. vs. $4000 5090

If you do dual 5070 TI, it could have been $1700 for 32GB total VRAM

I picked up a 3090 24GB 2 days ago, not sure how I want to deploy it yet. Maybe pair with a 16GB for a total of 40GB to parallel LLM and content creation. 3090 is much slower but but you can get to 48GB VRAM if you find 2 x 3090 24GB for $2000 total.

I did some basic testing on it, it feels like running LLM on a Macbook M5 Max, got more ram but it's also slower... not very satisfying.

Was you in for one for this deal? I recalled you had 2 x 5090 from previous two Omen and Legion tower deals. I'm rocking with my Legion 5090 PC lol.
Just installed qwen 3.8 27b yesterday, coding with claude/copitlot/codex is great. I pay 0 dollar for subscription.

I did the math - ran it through checkout - and would love to purchase it. But my wife and I both already have 9800x3d with 5090 rigs that we built last year... all my kids are running 9070xt's and although they game I do not see a point in spending 4k on their graphics card.

This is a tremendously good deal given current pricing - and honestly it has been sitting in the cart this whole time - I WANT to pull the trigger but I don't NEED another 5090 in the house and that 4k might be a safer hedge sitting in savings or being spent on multiple gifts for the coming season versus a purchase...

That all said - I still might end up pulling the trigger just because I am fortunate enough to be able to afford it...and its a great deal - Buuuuuuut the person in me who is always trying to figure out where we are gonna get Disney money from - is telling me to not spend 4k on a gaming PC that will not get the kind of workout necessary and collect more dust than not.

Pretty sure a lot of slickdealers are in similar spots - recognizing it is a hell of a deal but hemming and hawing on pulling the trigger for other reasons.
I can't understand having 10k worth of GPUs for two people to play today's slop games. I would be unloading those things for a big profit and running a 9070xt or something until this all blows over.

Yes. I have one of the Lenovo deals. I was trying to order while I was on plane cuz the deal is good! I still have it and just downloaded a few different qwen 3.8 27B. I got around 108 tgs on MTP. Pretty good! I paid 3 years on-site because I push this machine the hardest.Free is relative, We do have to pay for the machine and electricity

Smilie But it is amortized I guess

Think Time is a killer. I can't stand it. I am using windows. I have not dedicated a 5090 to run Linux which will be better at serving LLM using VLLM

Not everyone uses GPU for games. There are real non-AI applications that require GPU power as well.

as for unloading them - so why don't you do just that, unload for big profit and buy a 9070XT if it is that easy. #EasyMoneyRight?

Slickdeals comes down to two types of people: those who actually pull off the deal, and those who miss out or can't buy the deal but won't stop lecturing everyone else.
