So random question and thoughts in case anyone has thoughts or feedback. Brother and I are building up Ice House. I'm looking to get a battery bank/solar setup. I'd like to avoid the generator if I can but if I have to just to charge things up I will. All that being said any recommendations or thoughts on inverter/setup on how long this would last running some TVs, lights, chargers, etc. I'd like to investigate just going standard 110 small appliance too if I could do it and skip the 12v stuff all together, or at a bare minimum just a 12v light or two.

Am I stupid for wanting/thinking this would be easier? Would 2 of these be enough? Would I need 4 instead? Realistically the amount of juice being pulled is just the lights and TV's running maybe 4-6s a day and over the weekends longer of course.

I bought two of these. I charge them outside with 2 or 3 175W panels, which takes 2-3 days in summer (per battery), but longer outside of summer months because of weather and length of the days. In winter, they have to be warmed up. Charging below freezing will damage the cells (you mentioned Ice House). One battery will power my computer for about 3 days (200-300W) for 6-8 hours using a pure sine inverter. Inverters themselves consume power just sitting at idle (maybe 30W?). So how much you need will depend upon your power draw and whether you leave it sitting idle when it's not in use. Add up the wattage of the things you want to run, multiply by hours of use. Each of these batteries stores about 3.5 kWH of energy, so divide your daily requirement (in kWH, so divide your watts x hours by 1000) into 3 (to allow for losses in the inverter) to get how many days one battery will last. The tricky part is figuring out how much wattage in solar panels you'll need to charge the batteries to keep uo with your consumption. I use a charge controller with Anderson connectors to charge mine because I physically take them outside to charge. You'll more likely want to rig up a system where you don't need to move them around, but make sure they don't go below freezing when charging. That's a long, rambling answer, but I think I hit the high points.

THIS GUY CHARGES! Took me wasting about $50 in buying tools/correcting regular solar connectors before I searched online --- realized that 'normal' solar connectors are supposed to be plug ONCE and never touch again..... or at best, connect disconnect quarterly. No more than that!
My solar cables failed after a few months every time. Thought I was doing something wrong..... smh.
They really need instructions on using/providing andersen connectors with these batteries..............

Andersen connectors allow you to connect and disconnect thousands of times (in theory)

I need more batteries but on the fence because of weight. My plastic 280AH is heavy enough. don't know if a metal case will put me over the edge (therefore I wasted $500 for no reason lol)

Showing 636.00 minus 120 is 516.00. Is this slowing expiring?

These always manage to pop up on Front Page guess last question before I pull trigger is anyone have input on how long they have had them, if they have had issues or not, and last but not least definitely input from guys who have had issues and if they actually saw any support.

I guess my expectations are low on the support end for the price but just curious on what I'm getting myself into Smilie

I've used one of the plastic case versions of these in our RV over the past year. Zero issues. Love it. Best value and appreciate the app. However, just yesterday I got a notice that there is a new version of their iOS app. Read a review about it that said the Bluetooth on at least some models of this brand can be used by others to change some settings that could turn off it's ability to charge up and potentially leave you with a dead battery. Basically the guy was saying they need to add security to their connected app interface. I'm not worrying about it right now, but something I will be learning more about when I have more time to read up on it.

Did some more digging and seeing a price, before tax/ship/tarrif (if applicable) is 481.40 for my use case. This is also a PayPal pay later 35.00 option discount. Ive never seen or used this, but its gonna get some use today. I absolutely love the metal container look and termination location.

BMS is not always accurate in stopping battery from overdraining - my instance, a battery used to get 145.38AH but after using the battery until BMS stopped it, damage was done. Battery only fully charges to 141.18AH these days. Don't rely on BMS to cut power before cell is damaged. Stop at 8%-10% and charge then
