Go for it. This one if you want the ability for the printer to switch colors for you or the 5m if you only want one color. Flashforges are simple set up and start printing quick.

They are very similar in most specs. The price difference is mainly in the IFS 4 color system. The AD5X has a slightly different print head which can get a little hotter and handles finicky materials like ASA or ABS better. The IFS independent feed system also allows you to print soft filaments like TPU better. If you are contemplating one or the other the AD5X is a winner at this price. If you have the 5M and are contemplating an upgrade the real stand out of the AD5X is the 4 color printing.

I purchased the Ad5X in Nov and I got my $ from CB. Also and other large purchase early in the year for $80 CB went through. Sometime you have to inquire about the purchase in the CB app on that "shopping trip". And they will add it.

I tried to purchase it again today and it worked. I used PayPal and got it for $199. Yesterday it was trying to change the price to $280 after I linked paypal to it.

I'm new to this 3d printing world. I would like to get one for my son's birthday. He is turning 10. I don't want a cheap one but a decent one where I as adult can use it too. Does this one fit that description? or Should i go for a better one?
