Revanced is a way to get around ads and annoying stuff, but it's also a 3rd party app that requires absolute trust in the dev. It's great but I prefer Brave browser.

Directly from the app store and still blocks ads and plays in the background.

Nothing wrong with Revanced. You just need to RTFM.
If you're getting stalls at about 1 minute, you need to make a simple change to the video client spoof setting.

My code did not work even though I've never had Youtube Premium on the email address I was using. It only gave me one month of service. I called Best Buy and the rep said that I have to be a Best Buy Total or Plus member for it to work. Then why did they send me the code? The rep then asked me if I wanted to sign up to be a BB Total or Plus member. I said no. And that was it. I may need to try another rep to see if they can get it to work without signing up for their Total service.
