I've never hacked. My store#1 has the battery, but had to use store#2 for the limited stock saw. Can I order online pickup, and ONLY go get the saw from store#2, and ignore store#1 or ask them to refund the battery? I've read sometimes HD refuses the return since it was part of a deal...?

This saw is decent if you need one that can be used with 1 hand. It's not as quick or powerful as the larger 2 handed saws like the DCS384. I believe mainly because the length of stroke is much shorter (5/8's on this model vs 1-1/8th on the larger ones) But it's much lighter. I have both, and use this one for smaller jobs, or something I need a free hand for.

So, if I already have a two-handed one, which single-handed would you say is better between this one or the 12v version that seems even smaller. Like the idea of a quick saw-first-think-later one to have on hand, but don't want it to be so much smaller that it's useless.

As a plumber, I have roughed in many houses using just this saw. It's capable even if it's slower because of the short stroke, but that also makes it smoother and user friendly.
