The Motorola Edge 2024 stands out as a budget Android phone with strong extras, especially wired desktop mode and the ability to run as a Wi Fi only device. It also has a clear software runway, with security updates expected through May 2027 and Android 16 as the last major version. The main catches are carrier locking and unlock uncertainty, since the bootloader is said to be locked and the SIM unlock path can be tricky. Battery life and the USB C port also draw complaints over time, making this more appealing for tinkering than for long term hassle free use.

You know walmart has better deal for this phone and 12 month Tracfone service for $49.88 right? You can throw away the plan and use something else on tracfone. They also have the 2025 version for $79.88

Hi iskynix ☺️ Would you be able to share the links for those, please? I'd be interested in picking up the Edge 2024 at that price myself, honestly 😆

The only Motos at that price from Walmart that I'm personally aware of are the Moto G Power 2024/2025. I looked but could not find the Edge 2024/2025 at the same price (only an Open Box Straight Talk Motorola Edge 2024 for $90). Thanks in advance!

Have my edge for 2 years now. The type c port has been moody for a year, sometimes I wake up in the morning and find it not charged. Battery life sucks even tho it's still 95% healthy (accubattery)

Pay $420 a year + $92.92 just to get the phone unlocked? I'll pass.
Works on Visible locked unlimited plans low as $19 month tax included.

Total Wireless Model goes for around same price on Ebay. I see 2 for $99 brand new in box. They can be rebranded to Visible/Tracfone

the 2025 made some real improvements over the 2024. The 2026 went with a smaller 6.3 screen and a better camera.
2025 Model $115 from Metro $49.99 +$65 Plan with new number or Free if port number. Still only have pay for 1 month and wait 365 days for unlock after.

got it. My Cricket Edge is the 2026 model. My cost was $81.74 ($19 + $60 plan). After the month is up, I can go with their 3 month plan at $15. month plan.
