This seems like a really good deal. My son is 11 and has the OLED model now. Other than the screen may not be as good is there any other reasons not to upgrade to the switch 2? Thanks

I keep a Switch at home, mostly for family and friends during visits.

dad Question: If I trade this for the SWITCH2, what happens to all my digital download games, do I lose them? thanks.

So the Switch 2 console sales are lagging, why else offer a deal such as this?
Or maybe BB knows the economy is in the dumpster and they want to sell oled switches to people that won't/cant pay for a switch 2 during the holiday season.

I was once told I have some early/older model Switch 1 that is sought after because it's a model # that can be hacked to be able to do something else... I don't really remember. But I was told back then that if I ever wanted to get rid of it that I should sell it instead of trading it in cuz I would get more money... Does that make any sense to anyone reading this?

Switch 2 battery life is much much shorter than the OLED.

Anybody have experience trading in a Switch 1 OLED for a Switch 2 with Animal Crossing at Best Buy? I traded in a Switch 1 non-OLED for a Switch OLED years ago at GameStop and it was a time-consuming exercise to get Animal Crossing data transferred that required both Switches and a bit of patience from both me and the employee. It seems unlikely Best Buy would extend such a courtesy.

Digital games are tied to your account. Transfer/eject your virtual game cards on the current switch before factory resetting and trading

You could won't lose the games so long as you use the same account information to login the device. You will need to redownload the content.

How does the screen on the Switch 2 compare to the OLED? I know it's a bit larger, but how does the image hold up?
it's good, but it's not a strict upgrade. Largely what you would expect intuitively: for games with high contrast/dark colors like Ori, it looks considerably more vibrant on switch oled. For other games that are bright and colorful (most Nintendo First-party games), it looks good, arguably better. The other thing is, bigger/higher resolution screen makes lower resolution Nintendo assets look extra bad. Ori is a double whammy in this regard where it loses on contrast and the somewhat low-res HUD elements are amplified, so it legitimately looks pretty rough on Switch 2. Other games have been pretty good.

Also borders on too big for handheld. Feels a smidge unwieldy

It looks pretty good for an LCD. A bit like a laminated ipad lcd. I was impressed and I'm a screen snob.

That's on Saturday morning. In-store only. ~50 cards available per store and one per person. Most likely you'd hae to get there an hour or two early.
They are also dropping Pokemon cards, so 1-2 hours might not be enough depending on where you are located.

Fire Emblem is fully on cart. Whether it's worth 80$ to you is a different question. You cannot play Fire Emblem Fortune's weave on an original Switch, even if you pirate it.
Is it going to be anything like three houses? That game blew me away, normally I'm totally against Waifu relationship simulator games but it was just so well done that I was hooked until the end.
