I did this deal yesterday at my local Best Buy in Yorba Linda, CA Best Buy. I purchased online for pickup. It was ready within an hour, i brought my grey Switch 1 with power cable, dock and straps. I completed the trade in and the only thing they required was the console w/joycons and the power cable. He let me keep the docs and straps. They said they just recycled the other parts. I also had the same issue as the other poster about the rep saying I only get $75 back, i showed the receipt, the manager came and showed me the screen that it does shows $75 trade in and $75 for trade in promo with Switch 2 purchase. He said the $150 will be refunded back to my credit card within 48 hours. Process was easy, the only quality check they did was they made sure it turned on and that iis it.

Now is the time to trade up if you were planning to get the switch 2 anyway. It still plays all the switch 1 games. Prices go up in September.

I'm having a HELL of a time at BBY guys trying to do this deal 2x for my 2 kids. First order basically went through fine. For the second one, the online ordering keeps cancelling my orders. I've tried different email accounts and different credit card seemingly to no avail.

Update - after a solid 2 hours in the store and working with the manager got the second trade in done.

Manager ended up able to ring up manually but struggled a little to find the correct trade in console and promo deal.

We couldn't figure out why the system kept cancelling my second order, it might have had to do with the (lame) steelbook promo case being oos.

Everything was cordial, obviously mygoing in with the right patience pants and tempered expectations was a big help.

bummer! i didn't have time earlier in the week to grab this deal. It is most likely dead in my area NY as everywhere has no trade in and i cant even do an online trade in deal.

Saw another post they were also having the same issue due to online scalper algorithm would be better to just go in store.

It sucks that best buy said I have to wipe my old switch before they can complete the trade-in and purchase if the switch 2. So I can't get the switch 2 and do the device to device transfer before I surrender the old switch. Frown

I went to one bestbuy and did not have any. I went to another bestbuy and they were not able to pick their system despite having them in stock after placing the order over a hour in advance. It was a complete waste of gas and time.

This site is ridiculous. I type a reply, it then had me log in and then acts as if the reply was never typed. Anyway to all of those saying just do it in store, they won't even let you. They told me only way the bonus affable s if you buy it online. Well online doesn't have day one sku so I'm afraid if I do it it am wasting time and that will tell me the sku doesn't match.

I had no problem trade in my ACNH edition. One thing though, they couldn't let me transfer my ACNH data to the new device (mind you, data for this game is only transferable when you have two physical devices). So the store manager suggested 1. Buy Switch 2 with full price 2. Transfer data 3. Return Switch 2 and resell it to me with trade in. And it worked. Of course they didn't know about the promo so I had to explain and showed them the promo web page. This whole process was kinda annoying and a bit frustrating but they did all they can to help me out which I truly appreciated. Also, got additional $25 discount accidentally(?) so I ended up only paying around $300 including tax.

If you have Nintendo Online, you can save your data in the cloud. They also have 7 day free trial which still let you save data in the cloud.

Finally gave up after all of these hoops they had to jump through. I guess I saved a few hundred dollars by not upgrading since they are incapable of understanding their is promotions. Will no either sell it on eBay or not upgrade, them

I am still really annoyed how this all went.

Didn't some of you do the entire thing in store? Guy at the store I went to kept arguing and saying it said you could only get the $75 coupon OR a gift card even though i showed him it said AND.

And I could never get anyone in here to clarify how to do it with the day 1 switch since its sku wasn't in the list online. Some people in here said they traded in that original version, but they didn't say if they just selected a different sku and ordered for pickup or if they went and did the entire thing in person.

So i guess I now have to decide whether to keep it or sell on ebay and hope original version gets more.

Also, I know the switch 2 hoes up in price $50 soon, but you know for black friday they are BOUND to lower it at least $50 in a sale so worst case is it would be same price as now.
