Switch 1 games run on Switch 2. A lot of great games on Switch 2 at the moment. Fantastic time to buy.

This trade in deal mainly turns a Switch OLED or original Switch into a cheaper Switch 2, with the strongest appeal being the high trade value and easy in store pickup when the promo is recognized. The Switch 2 adds 1080p, HDR, VRR, faster loads, and smoother gameplay, while still playing Switch 1 games. The main knocks are the LCD screen, which can look washed out or smeary next to OLED, and the shorter battery life. Trade in rules and store handling vary, so accessories, model selection, and promo application can affect the final total.

Of course, I didn't catch it until after delivery and such. Guessing I'll be out of luck, but I sent a note to the trade-in team at Best Buy after talking to a CS rep.
The Switch 2 was delivered by FedEx rather quickly then came the free Mario Bros. game case.
Once I received the Switch 2, I remembered reading from the comments here that all they asked for in-store were the white Joy Cons & the power cord. Nonetheless, I wiped the Switch OLED & sent that along with the Joy Cons, power cord, & the dock as well just for the heck of it. I also cleaned up the components before packing.
I packed the trade in with a bunch of bubble wrap pretty snug & even printed out my own 'Fragile' labels lol I did notice the label that Best Buy provided me with had an address of Chino, CA & I just so happen to work only 4 or 5 miles from the destination. So I ended up dropping it off to the nearest FedEx Print Office & the package arrived within two days which I confirmed via FedEx app.
After delivery, the BB order page showed that the trade in was received & I would be notified via email once the console was evaluated. A couple days after that, I got an email in the afternoon saying that the 'Estimated Details' matched the 'Actual Details' for $130 & the bottom of the email had fine print saying that any additional promotional trade in value would be honored. Lo & behold, the email also explicitly showed:
"What is the condition of the item" Good -> Good
"Does the the game console include the AC adapter / power cord?" Included -> Included
"Does the game console include a fully functional controller?" Yes -> Yes
The fine print also explained that if the above values matched, they would automatically apply the total refund of the trade in & promotional add on to the CC used, which I did receive within 24 hours.
Does anyone know whether Bestbuy periodically reopens promos like this? Any chance of seeing something similar anytime soon?

In the meantime while I was waiting for my pick up order, the price went up after 15 days, even though I had already paid for it. When I received the email saying my order was ready, I went back to the first store. They did the trade-in quickly, but when I got home, I noticed I was charged an extra $46, which I think is from the price increase.
So, they gave me $150 for the trade-in, but charged me $46 extra (likely the price difference). In the end, the price was $338 + SoCal tax, coming out to $374.99.
