Actually, you can schedule it to start AFTER your current plan ends and you CAN keep your existing number. As you go through the purchase process for a phone that you already have with them, there is an option to start the new plan immediately or to start it after your current plan ends.
There definitely is one consideration to think about. These lines DO NOT get the same level of priority as native subscribers to either Verizon or T-Mobile. So I've noticed twice over the course of two years when I have been in "arena" settings (like a concert or graduation) with thousands of people that my mobile data was not working. This is almost certainly because native Verizon and T-Mobile subscribers get priority over Infimobile. But I can live with that for the price difference.
I'll admit that the prices are really good, so some people are probably skeptical. I was, too, when I first started with them in 2024. So I first bought a 1-month SIM for a burner phone just to check things out. That worked well so then I moved on to a 6-month plan and a few months later I was convinced so I moved over my primary phone. And since then, we have progressively moved the whole family over as contracts have expired.
I completely get why folks are skeptical--so try a low cost 1- or 3-month plan with them--on your choice of Verizon or T-Mobile--just to see if it works for you.
Does anyone know if you're already on a 6 months 10GB plan with Infimobile, and you buy this 12 months 15GB plan and activate it, would it kick in right away or only after you've completed the 6 months from the previous plan?

It would be right away with a different number.

This is what I did! It's added to a reserve.
Going to do this again.
Really depends on where you are. I got one last month. T-Mobile has good coverage in my area, so activated on Tmo. Data was awful, single digits download. Switched to Verizon network, okay so far.
Be careful, Wi-Fi Calling does not typically work. Let me know if you have the same problem. They have been trying to enable for me for two weeks and it does not look promising. I don't believe they truly have it, although they do advertise it.

Just have to make sure you have the E911 address set and it'll activate / work after that.
