Laptops with Radeon dGPUs? That's not something you see-- 2300???
Agreed the price is bad, but the product itself is actually pretty interesting.
AI Max comes with 8060S, which is a very strong iGPU, not a dGPU, roughly 4060 laptop-class gaming performance
It uses unified memory, and AMD lets you allocate a huge chunk of system RAM to the GPU. Roughly 80% can be configured as VRAM. Nvidia is trying to offer a similar unified memory product (N1X), but that's unfortunately ARM, while this one is x86.
The really unusual part is the form factor. This Legion 7a is only about 3.42 lb and 0.61–0.63" thick, while still giving you this level of GPU performance in a normal 15.3" clamshell laptop.
Flow Z13 uses a similar AI MAX chip idea and has hit the front page here multiple times, but with Z13 you have to accept the 2-in-1/tablet form factor. With the 7a you get a traditional clamshell design and maybe most importantly to some people: no liquid metal.
That being said, basically every new laptop is overpriced at launch. At $2300 this is hard to justify. If it eventually drops to around $1600, or the 64GB version drops to around $2000, it becomes a very strong option.

PROBLEM IS THE 8060S competes against a 5070 at raw performance, and without a crap ton of virtual RAM it is absolutely not worth this price
it's better in the z13 because it is more efficient than using a discrete GPU, so it makes sense because of the form factor
