Worst unlock policy I've seen of any carrier. I just paid 400 for a pixel 10 with full year of service with mint and it unlocks after 3 months. Best to wait for that kind of deal to come back. I've seen it a few times with various carriers with better unlock policies.

Not all things are equal. While the unlocking policy is atrocious almost everywhere now, this post is about an iPhone. To some or maybe most, Pixel no matter how cheap it is, is just not in their scope. iPhone carry higher premium as opposed to any other phone on the market.

This is a terrible deal. I would get the iPhone 17 rather than the budget model and be locked into a carrier for a whole year.

This does not appear to actually work for existing customers. When selecting "I'm upgrading my phone" under the existing customer option, the price resets back to $599. It does seem to allow the lower price if you select "I'm bringing my number" but it's not clear how that works as an existing customer.

16e has half the storage and a worse processor.

Well, the 17e does not exist so I'm gonna guess it's the 16e. EDIT: woah, it does exist. I thought they didn't do an "e" variant this year.

To answer your question, I clicked the link. It's a 17e.

QUESTION: I literally come here for the comments from all the smart people. Can someone tell me why everyone comments about the unlock policy? I'm looking for a phone and a plan so would I not care about unlocking?

Some folks, myself included, prefer an unlocked phone so that it can be used with a cheaper plan from whichever carrier they prefer. So if it costs less and takes lesser time to get an unlocked phone and to use with a carrier of their choosing then the better. If you don't care for this then obviously it's not applicable for you. Hope this helps.

Sharing in case your question revolves around technical specs)You can compare the technical specs on Apple's website here and decide for yourself:https://www.apple.com/iphone/compare/

Has anyone traded in a 17e at Apple? If yes, please share what they gave for it. Asking as I don't see it on their list of iPhones on the trade-in webpage.
