One of the other forums I go to has one of these threads and I've been turned on to some good movies that other regulars just watched. I was kind of surprised not to see a similar thread here (at least not that I could find.) Big Grin

I just rewatched "Kinamand" - a cute drama about a Danish plumber who gets involved in an arranged marriage with a Chinese illegal. Good stuff (Netflix instant.)

So what have you folks watched recently?

Sucker Punch - Shouldn't have listened to the guy at the video store. laugh out loud Not much of a plot going on, although they dress it up to make it seem like it has one. Lame story just to see hot chicks run around in next to nothing shooting guns and using swords. While normally that'd be ok ( laugh out loud ), it just didn't seem glued together that well or attached to the plot well. The fighting scenes were seemingly thrown in randomly just to keep the pace of the movie up. And there was so much CGI, all of the fighting scenes were primarily CGI except in close quarters. Overall a pretty lame movie, but the chicks in skimpy outfits gets a Thumbup from me. LMAO 2/5 stars.

Meh. Action was awesome. Plot seemed to steal the tone/direction of Independence Day but without the silly jokes/acting of Will Smith. Smilie

Red Riding Hood - Awful.

Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightening Thief - Great! Funny, action-packed, fierce, some good CGI, and an A+ for original storytelling. Uma Thurman as Medusa, Pierce Brosnan as a centaur. Really enjoyed how they worked disabilities into the storyline -- very positive message for children struggling with those issues.

It was a good movie watching weekend for me. I saw Super 8 (2011), King Kong (1933), and Just Go with It (2011).

Super 8 was good, although not what I was expecting. King Kong was of course great, and Just Go with It was decent fare for what it was.

Red Riding Hood - Better than I thought it would be. Very strange movie. It seems like it was set in the modern day if no advances had been made in about 400 years.

Horrible Bosses - Actually, pretty good. Had free tickets, so I enjoyed it.
