A "Hey I just watched a movie" thread

One of the other forums I go to has one of these threads and I've been turned on to some good movies that other regulars just watched. I was kind of surprised not to see a similar thread here (at least not that I could find.)
I just rewatched "Kinamand" - a cute drama about a Danish plumber who gets involved in an arranged marriage with a Chinese illegal. Good stuff (Netflix instant.)
So what have you folks watched recently?

FMA: note the "Brotherhood" series is a retelling of the first series. The first series was finishing before the comic was, so the TV show started making stuff up, and plot holes and things ensued. "Brotherhood" is basically the TV studio's admission that they screwed up so badly they should redo the entire series. (Probably made some more $ from it too, of course.)
I do think the first episode of the first series draws you in way more than the first episode of Brotherhood, though. Watch episode one of the first series and see if you're not hooked by the end.
Have no fear about Evangelion. It's a "giant robot" show that doesn't actually have giant robots. If you want human interaction, I don't think you'll be disappointed, though it's not necessarily nice human interaction, and if memory serves, it can be a bit slow. If you like happy endings... eh... I don't know if much of anything in Evangelion actually counts as happy. You'll wind up watching Evangelion eventually, but, honestly, it wouldn't be at the top of my list of things to watch before other, newer stuff.
I really don't think Brotherhood would have kept me as involved as it did if it weren't for my previous viewings of FMA's first series. Those characters really grow on you. Even the "bad guys."
And they aren't robots in Evangelion
I just realized my boyfriend left and took these DVDs with him! Dang it! I was hoping to borrow them!

Scrapped Princess. It's sort of a medieval, sci-fi, fantasy series. Very underrated imo. Usually anything with "princess" in the title pushes people away, but while it's not hardcore, it's not cutesy either. (Well, maybe sometimes.) The ending is rushed, but other than that, I think it's well done and entertaining. As always, ymmv on that. It's made by Studio Bones, which has a history of making quality stuff.
The last show I watched was Kaichou Wa Maid Sama, which was also good, but you know how there's often a "comic relief" character who overreacts to everything and screams and runs around hysterically way too much? Well, unfortunately in KWMS, 80% of the cast is like that, which was definitely pushing my limits.
And now I'm debating whether to get the new Bleach collection from Viz as soon as it comes out (Tuesday) or wait until it shows up in the used pile. Unfortunately, it covers one of the filler arcs they did while waiting for more of the manga to get written, so I'm probably not going to like it as much as the main storyline.
Or I could jump ahead and get one of the other releases, which are way ahead of Viz...but at least the Malaysian releases suffer from the drawback that the subtitling is done by people who don't speak English:
(The rest of the line, in case you're curious, is "animosity hidden under table." No, I don't understand it either.)
Hmmmm...decisions, decisions....
I think I watched five or so Bleach and thought it's ok but didn't hook me. And now there's 350 episodes of it? Good Lord.
One show with a billion episodes that surprised me is Detective Conan. The kid genius who solves murders. I watched about 10 of those, and the murder solving is interesting, (who knew there were so many ways to kill people?), but all the pretending to be a kid stuff can get tiresome.
I was thinking, "Didn't I see an anime channel on Youtube with lots of stuff on it one time?" Sure enough...

Some people argue about dubs vs. subs, but I think even sub-worshipers agree the dubbed FMA is excellent and perhaps better than the subbed.
I don't recognize most of the stuff on there, but they do have Full Metal Alchemist and both seasons of Spice and Wolf. Last Exile was pretty decent too with the steampunk airship stuff and slick animation.
I also see Count of Monte Cristo on there. If you like human interaction and revenge, might be worth a look.
The scenes with them discovering their powers and dealing with it made it interesting..but then it kinda degenerated...

The Ides of March sucked even harder, and at that point, I decided I didn't want to waste any more of my time on crappy movies.
Ryan Gosling's cutie patootie couldn't even save those movies.
the introduction of the secondary characters and central conflict is done fairly well/quickly, and most of the movie is spent trying to resolve it by bringing all the old characters back together to put on the show one more time. all the old characters are there, and most of the voices are close enough to the originals that i stopped noticing them within a couple minutes. the one exception is Fozzy: with a normal volume, it was good, but any time he whispered or yelled, it wasn't even close.
the conflict between the secondary characters doesn't get a lot of screen time and is, well, secondary. this is fine: we aren't watching the movie to see Jason Segel and Amy Adams work out their relationship. there is a pretty big change in the relationship between Kermit and Miss Piggy: it's pretty serious, and in the beginning of the movie, they're basically estranged (divorce is hinted). this seems a bit heavy for a Muppets movie, but it works well in the plot and makes everything feel a bit more real while giving a sense of time passed.
there are several winks at how much entertainment for children/families has changed since the 70s-80s when their show/movies aired, and it gets somewhat heavy-handed at one point, but nothing like Wall-E. the main villain is purposefully over the top and pretty funny himself at times. the musical numbers are pretty good overall with Rainbow Connection being the standout.
my biggest disappointment was the relative scarcity of puns/wordplay. you couldn't go two minutes in the old movies without some groan-inducing pun, but i can only remember a few in this one. i like cheesy humor, and while smaller kids sometimes don't like it because they don't have a good enough grasp on the language to get it, we adults appreciate it.
overall, it was a decent modern take on the Muppets. the voices were good, the plot was simple, the characters are funny, and they kept it to a reasonable length (103min).
rating: 6.5/10
Its about a flu like epidemic that basically shuts down the planet.
Movie was good, but it does not have a good strong ending that you expect throughout the entire movie.
I give it a 7/10

Just wondering, what would have happened in Drive for it to be better?

I will say that Ides of March likely didn't keep my interest because I hate politics with a passion
