Not quite what I have needed. Need head to bend for difficult turn spaces. Bur useful for working with all-thread rods outdoors.

Not sure what kit you're talking about without a link, but in my experience, Gearwrench tools are usually of pretty good quality, and Klein is often a bit over priced. If both meet your needs, I'd say go with whichever one is cheaper, neither is throw-away junk.

These are spline sockets. I love em. I have an old craftsman set that are like normal sockets. I bought this set years ago. It's nifty for those times you need the pass through. Use em three times, and I consider it paid for. Spline sets are an oddity because you can do square, star, hex, etc in them... and there is enough loosy goosey to use metric on standard, if it fits.

Klein is like showing off your bugatti when your buick will do in a pinch. Also, only goes 8-17 mm, while Gearwrench goes to 19mm. Don't like the black color sockets though, cause if you ever drop a socket deep inside an engine bay you appreciate the shiny chrome color reflecting off your flashlight. They have a shiny chrome set on Amazon, but it's 2x price:

These were also sold under the Crescent name for 19.99 a couple years ago.

I like the set and think there is still value at $32 and prices have went up. $32 is not bad at current prices.

There is one thing that is pain with the set and with the design and that is it there is no standard socket rails to keep them organized unless you get some magnetic set

Pass-throughs do what normal sockets do, plus they have a couple advantages. The obvious one is that they work on long threaded rods, studs, or bolts that can pass through the center of the socket, but I rarely use them for that. The other advantage is that because the socket fits up inside the wrench, it has a much lower profile and can fit in tighter spots.

Thanks for the reply! I could see them being pretty useful in tight engine bays
