Not a bad deal. A solid bang for the buck and good mid-tier component set. To get something significantly better, you're 3X this price. Focus on the installation/coupling to the door versus spending more money. 🙂

80w rms, 88db sensitivity. This should come with a disclaimer of don't just randomly use this to replace the blown out stock speakers in your accord.

True, but people should be in the habit of looking into specs before purchasing. I guess someone might not think about it since these don't have external crossovers though.

Go to Crutchfield to see if it fits your car first.

This takes me back to the 90s. Why were factory speakers so bad back then...

Most Accords have a head unit with 10-25Watts RMS per channel... severely underpowered to let these Alpine speakers sing much.

Likely, you'll want a 4-channel speaker with minimum 75W RMS per channel, and you'll likely need a capacitor and deep-cycle battery.

Make sure you research your autos speaker system first and be certain they are the same size for replacement, so you dont have to cut up your car body/door to make them fit.

You should see what 2023 Toyota OEM speakers look like now - 99% plastic. Not even a metal basket which makes 90s speakers look premium.

Even a 10 year old accord is going to have a 100+ amp alternator, something car audio people dreamed of back in the 80's. That's going to have plenty of power for a 75w 4 channel amp and a decent 4-500 watt monoblock without even breaking a sweat.

The bigger issue on modern cars is getting clean signal out to your amp. Factory stereos are so integrated you can't remove them and their output is heavily modified to protect the crappy speakers, meaning you will have to resort to DSPs or things like a LC2i to bring back some bass.

The amount of plastic and lack of magnets in the crap I took out of my wife's doors in her 2025 Subaru was shocking. These manufactures should be ashamed of themselves

i replaced my Ford escape on-board speakers with these ones, almost 3 years back, and still feel that was the best decision i have made and back then installation at BestBuy used to be free for paid memberships. Those were golden days.

Keep in mind weight has become such an obsessive push in automotive manufacturing that high performance plastics have replaced metal in many applications (glass fiber reinforced nylon and the like), and a lot of factory speakers are even utilizing neodynium magnets today which look tiny compared to traditional magnets of the same performance level. Many of them are much better than aftermarket speakers of a few years ago despite seeming dubious in construction.

Long time stereo installer here. To defend factory car stereo's "cheap" looking speakers, they generally make them so light (paper cone, small magnets, etc.) because they want to use as little power as possible to run them so they make their sensitivity very high. Also smaller magnets are generally crappier but be careful, some use neodynium magnets which are actually quite premium.

With aftermarket car speakers like these, you are really paying for the crossovers. Cars are generally terrible accoustic environments and the crossovers from Alpine, Kenwood, Kicker, are tweaked to boost frequencies that usually suffer in cars. They usually have low sensitivity and require more power as people here are saying (yes you generally need aftermarket amps for speakers like this to sound good) Most if not all factory headunits will NOT work well with these for that reason.

Also, a lot of modern cars are running speaker active from the factory headunit (i.e., no physical crossovers) with dedicated wires so just popping these in without knowing what you are doing will give poor results.

If you want to keep factory headunit (most modern cars are extremely integrated with AC, etc.) but upgrade your speakers alone my recommendation is to just get replacement speakers from home speakers like partsexpress. There has been ZERO advancements in loudspeaker technology since the 70's. End of story.

Learn what your car stereo outputs per channel and get a speaker component to match. These Alpines might fit the bill, but my experience has been they need more power due to the crossovers.

You can get (2) Dayton Audio 6.5" DC160 and (2) 1" dayton tweeters for ($100) that will sound fantastic and outperform these alpines if you don't need the crossover. I've been running Dayton speakers for years.
