This 3 pack of 32GB PNY Class 10 U1 microSD cards looks like a low cost option for handhelds, general storage, music, videos, and spare cards. The effective price lands around $8 each, and the cards are described as working well for basic use, with some real world tests and long term use in cameras and handhelds. The main caution is reliability, since there are reports of dead on arrival cards, corruption, and failures after a few months or after repeated writes. For dash cams and other constant write uses, endurance rated cards are the safer fit.

The higher grade PNY consumer cards have tested well here:

Thank you @nraymond or real testing. I got some PNY 64GB Premier-X C10 U3 V30 A1 microSDXC Flash Memory Card 5-Pack, UHS-I $69 and they all tested with the correct transfer speed. Will see how they hold up. Needed at least V30, U3 for video or the DSLR said NO.

Cheap storage cards are so rare anymore. Shortages are projected to extend through late 2027, at least. But I'll pass on these.

I've been using 32GB and 64GB PNY microSD cards exclusively (whatever was cheapest at the time) for the past 6+ years in security cams and dash cams with continuous write, and haven't had a failure yet. Of course, I'm sure they'll start failing now that I've mentioned it.
But got a 3-Pack PNY 64GB Elite-X Class 10 U3 V30 A1 microSDXC for under $14 less than a year ago, ready to replace any failed card should it happen.
Pretty much same here. I've used endurance cards and regular cards in my cams and HTPCs and I have not seen any benefits yet with the endurance parts. Ironically, the first hard drive failure I've had in many years is with a Western Digital Purple drive that lasted only a couple of years.

This look to be their lower end card. They have an "Elite" series that should be close in price on the next Prime Day or near Black Friday. I should've picked up a few on the last Prime Day for spares in hind sight, will wait for deals on better cards on those big sale days.

I looking at these prices, I don't regret buying dozens of Sd cards in order to make PC game cartridges last year despite never actually getting around to doing it. This is legit like 4 or 5x more expensive

horrible for dashcams, for dashcams you need endurance rated
Yeah, bad example on my part. I'd use these for handhelds/general storage and stick with an endurance-rated card for a dash cam.

The shortage is projected to be through 2030 at a minimum. The data centers have bought up all of the manufacturing capability for 2027 already
