I get the walmart 50% discount every year. Done it a few times now.
I got it the first two years but since then it's not been available to me. Tried going without for a while to see if they'd offer me a better deal, tried different email address and credit card and used my wife's name, doesn't work for me. Between the AARP discount and the $20 referral bonuses I usually pay about $25 a year. I'm happy with that. Walmart has already delivered to my house 3 times today! (2 Spark drivers, 1 FedEx). I get my money's worth.

You can only get that the first year. I've had Walmart+ for years now and I don't qualify for any of those discounts anymore. It's tied to my address. Changing credit cards and email doesn't work if you use the same address for deliveries.
I've had Walmart plus for a few years and have only paid $49 or so each time. One time I had to let it expire a month or so to wait for the 50% off. Another time I extended it a year for 50% off. You can absolutely get w+ for a discount every year.

I'm glad that your anecdotal experience has been this good. I hope it continues. But I've done everything possible, including dropping service for 5 weeks, and it still hasn't worked. Believe me I'm a cheap b*st*rd and I would love to get that deal. I get regular deliveries 6-7 times a month as well as single items shipped almost every day. It just ain't happening. There's no other game in town where I live and they know it. There's one other grocery store, no Amazon Fresh, no Costco etc. I live 18 miles from the store and I'm just grateful they even deliver out in the boonies where I live!

Not true. You just have to let it expire. I've renewed at 50% off every Black Friday.

Many people in the deal threads about the 50% off have gotten it after their first year. They're the reason I've never paid full price for it. I believe mine expires around March so maybe I let one year go more than a month.

or maybe more likely, they know you're going to keep it regardless so they don't offer you the chance to save. Sounds like you use it more in a month than I do in a year. Possibly even with me using it for fuel discount which is the real reason I got it in the first place. although now with the free 25 4x6 photos a month I may max that out. finally print out some of my nature photos and family gathering photos. that's an astounding $4.50 a month 😂

No this is the regular price. I sold these memberships a few years ago and the price has not changed. Well they did raise it for a few months during COVID but no one would buy it...lol

I agree. If you look at past threads about 50% off there are lots of us who never get the offer. Why would they offer it to me? I'm just glad the AARP deal exists or I would be paying the full amount. I certainly do to Amazon. So just don't tell me if you're all getting Amazon discounts too! 😂

Thanks! I just verified this works. Went from $99/year to $58/year.

I was one of those that got kicked off sharing with my buddy. Amazon offered me prime for $15 for a year. That ends in October and I'm pretty sure I'm not renewing at full price. If they had a prime shipping only option that was cheaper, maybe I'd bite. I'm not paying $130 a year just for prime shipping. I don't use any of their other garbage so it's $130 just for prime shipping. Pass.

I get that. I've gone back and forth with it but I get my money's worth out of it too. When you live out in a rural area it's a two hour commitment just to run to the store. I get Amazon orders pretty much daily as well. I work from home so between the two I save a lot of time and gasoline by letting them bring everything to me. But the biggest value of Amazon is watching Slickdeals and buying as much as possible with Subscribe and Save. No Prime needed for that.
