Even if for some reason someone needed this, it ain't worth the potential annoyance

FWIW I picked up one of these for $90 a while back. It had a bent pin or 2. But it was easy enough to fix.

Definitely would have grabbed another.

This board has x16 pcie 5.0 (64GB/s) and a x4 m.2 pcie 4.0 (7.68GB/s) from cpu. With 8 lanes of DMI 4.0 to the z790.

I put a nvme to pcie x4 adapter in the cpu direct m.2 and slapped a prom21 in there.

Between that and onboard I'm Running 8 SATA (4+4), and 5 NVME ((2/4)+3), with only a x4 slot populated with dual SFP+ .
All running at or near full speed even when hammered.

This still leaves the direct x16 free and 2 x1 and 1 x4 hanging off DMI.

TLDR; makes for a sweet NAS build with quite a bit of expansion bandwidth.

$1265+tax, where did you get $844 from? And that is with 8gb vram... This crap is so expensive. Nice deal on the board, I guess, but I'm not paying astronomical DDR5 prices right now just to buy this, personally.

I picked up this exact board at Microcenter Refurbished ( $20, 2 hour drive) When i got the board home and installed it, for whatever reason the CPU base clock would stay stuck at 600MHz. I had to RMA it with Asus, $25 to ship and another week to get it back. make sure when you get this board you install it within the first week, make sure everything works.

Not sure why anyone would be building a socket 1700 DDR5 system at this point. If you are going LGA 1700 you are probably doing it so you can use DDR4 memory to save on that side of things or because you already have the memory. If you are going DDR5 you might as well go AM5 or something like the Ultra 270k plus.
