I would recommend looking at a different headset than the Alpha. The plastic clips that hold the earcups onto the headband are prone to breaking and made of cheap plastic.

Not with headphones but if it's directly from Amazon and not a third party I'm inclined to take the chance. You can always return it not satisfied

Same for all HyperX headsets. Everything else on the headset is super durable and high quality, and they use this fragile plastic for that one part. I'm on my third set of Cloud II (got them on a deal price) but even on sale I won't buy again, the clip keeps breaking every time. And I'm only able to still use them because when the right side clip broke on my newest set, I was able to replace it with the clip from my previous set where the left side clip broke.

I've gone through four Cloud/Cloud II/Cloud III wireless headsets due to that headband plastic housing breaking every 2 years or so, but I haven't had any problem with the Cloud Aplha headset...yet. I see the plastic parts you're talking about but all 4 are still crack-free on mine after 2 years. This is the first HyperX headset that hasn't shown signs of loosening/cracking so I really like it, and I especially like the battery life.

I've bought some random stuff used from Amazon over the years and haven't been disappointed yet, but a new one is only $108 (new) right now which is the best deal I've seen since Black Friday 2 years ago when it was $119.99 I think.

These are very comfortable, but I don't recommend them. One side stopped working after 3 months. Probably because the cable is exposed outside of the cup, it's easy to pull on it too hard.

My pair broke about 14 months into me owning it unfortunately. For me my experience was that the headset itself was no better than the $50 Cloud Core as far as audio quality and microphone quality went, but it far exceeded it many times over in battery life. The battery being the primary "gimmick" to take a low-end headset into midrange-high-end pricing territory.

I can't speak to that many competitor headsets around its price but I do know that if it were me I would try something else before I bought a cloud alpha again based on my experience.
