Our community has rated this post as helpful. If you agree, why not thank thrytis

From the manual, it looks like this has DIP switches to set it either at 48A or 40A charging. 48A charging requires hardwiring and a 60A breaker, 40A requires a 50A breaker and can be used hardwired or with the 14-50 plug.

All reviews say this a solid charger, but the code does not work on the 40amp plugin version.

UPDATE: The one listed here says it is hardwired, but it actually comes with a plug you can swap in and set to 40amp via dip switches (via the picture, comment above, and confirmed by the manual). So, I applied the code and ordered it. Thanks!

Reviews claim it isn't plug and charge but requires app or RFID card.

I also saw a review that said that RFID can be turned off so it can be plug and charge.

8PROTECTIONS still seems to work. If you're using the Amazon app you might be missing the step of tapping on the arrow that appears in the promo code box to apply the code (before tapping the Continue button).

Why does the title say NEMA 14-50, this is a hardwired charger, what it bypasses the 14-50 plug, thus more reliable/safer. the product page doesn't mention anything about NEMA 14-50.

unreal price for a good charger, even tesla owners should just buy an adaptor to take advantage of this. I just recently bought an Iyilo charger, but I'd have bought this if this price existed.

In the app you just check off "Plug and Charge" and it works without any other user input. I have had the 50amp screen version for almost 2 years and love it.

It works well and you can set it via the dip switches or from the wolf app to 40amps. I purchased during prime day. It works well on my model y with the j17752 adapter.
