It's actually a pretty decent deal though about 30-40% more than it would have been before fall of 2025. You're just not getting much for over a G. If all you want is gaming it'll do great. However, for local AI you'd want at least 16GB not 12 for something decent. People are just pissed and rightfully so at the most manufactured price fix in PC history. I'm kicking myself for not getting this crap when I got the local AI itch. Waited a few months and the increase killed some of that motivation.

Local LLM's suck anyway. Sure, data is private and no token usage but I don't know anyone running local at home that is doing anything actually productive. All menial, garbage tasks. Even with 128GB DDR5 RAM you're nowhere close to frontier models. Like...I don't think most people realize how far away they'd be.
Not a fan of subscriptions but I'd just pay the $20 and call it a day.

You're way behind the times and clearly don't know what you're talking about if you think 128GB of RAM is what people are using to run local LLMs.
But sure, keep licking GPT boot while they run through and pollute our water supply.

Go look at what people were able to do with the CMP 170hx mining cards and you'll weep.
64GB unlocked on a card that people were dumping on eBay for under $200 just a couple years ago.
