Pros:
- Clear display
- Backlight for dark areas
- Also checks voltage
- Foolproof correct/fault lights
- Actual faults listed on screen
- Built-in GFCI test incl. trip time
- Light covers arent loose inserts that fall out like cheap testers
- Display holds for some seconds when you pull it out. This means you can test a socket in a hard to reach/read position and then move the unit to somewhere more accessible to read the result.
Cons:
- No afci test (arcfault) but most at this price don't have one either.
- Klein sell a combo tester/breaker tracer tool and unfortunately this unit doesn't generate the breaker trace signal for that tool, even though every other aspect of this unit is nicer.

Well worth the asking price here.
Great analysis! I have been using this a lot lately as I'm adding separate lighting and outlet circuits to a basement shop. Thanks for pointing out the purpose of the "display hold" - I found it a bit annoying but makes sense for outlets with difficut access.
Unfortunately looks like the deal expired, even at its full price of $20 it's a good device.
Harbor Freight one is $15 and identical. 3-year vs 2-year warranty. I'd rather be able to exchange at a physical store. I'd also rather not give Amazon or Slickdeals any money.
