Or would I be better off getting one of those old Dell Optiplex SFF for the expandability of the PCI?

I would recommend you get a sff if can be had for less than 200. It's a bit more expandable and probably more reliable. I do have 2 different firebat units I haven't put to use they. 😭

I would take this anytime. The energy efficiency of these Ryzen CPUs makes it a blast for a home lab.

I went intel cpu for my sff homelab mainly for plex and hw accelerated decoding. Does anyone have experience with ryzen cpus and plex?

Reviews say this thing comes loaded with viruses, which explains why they sell it so cheap. I don't think wiping the SSD is enough. I wouldn't trust the firmware on it.

Yes and it's bad. You need to switch to jellyfin for hw acceleration and ryzen. Works for me though. Plex cannot decode Dolby 5 4K, even with software decoding.

Frigate also supports ryzen through openvino (lol)

This one apparently has an Oculink adapter too (at least from google search)

edit -- looks like we do not have an oculink. It is only 'supported' via m2 adapter.
