Definitely look at the photos posted in reviews as opposed to the ones in the listing. Clarity is over exaggerated. But also look at the price point. Seems decent for the price

thanks for the comment! I've been wanting a FLIR for years and I should probably just splurge on it. I just know I'll regret buying this one

I've been happy with the Topdon TC002C which I think is an older model now. Not sure the differences but resolution is fine and app is easy to use

Thanks for posting this, this looks great for the price point and for the use I wanted it for (just want to check the insulation in my house, and this will be plenty to spot fallen wall insulation and stuff.

One of the review is complaining how it's not worth $50. Also based on price history looks like this listing spend good chunk of time at this "deal" price

Watch the Project Farm video where he reviews a bunch of different brands of this item before buying any of these. He shows which ones are best, and backs it up with clear scientific data.

96×96 IR sensor enhanced to 240×240 TISR resolution, i.e. not good.

I had one it's ok small screen. Not bad for that resolution. I bought the one that attaches to an iPhone or android etc and way better. Bigger screen on iPad looks way better and cooler. I'd recommend that vs this.

This. 96*96 is not good. You can get a 192*192 for around $125. Much better quality.

I just checked Ali. Not seeing any from that brand near the same price point. Could you share the model # of yours?

Looks exactly like the generic one I bought on ebay for $80, same housing/shape just with blue buttons. These are basically made in bulk in China and relabeled to dozens of different resellers who will charge you various prices for them. Haven't figured out all the features yet but it does detect thermal variation decently. The one I have kind of freezes up every minute or so and sounds like an aperture adjusting inside before resuming operation so probably more of a DIY tool.

Don't lock yourself into the models that attach to smart phone. Heard complaints that those apps are usually buggy and slow. Sure they're more portable but how often do you randomly need to use one of these on the go?
