Used to love Merrell barefoot shoes. IMO the Trail Glove 4 and Vapor Glove 5 were the last great shoes they made. Now, I find Merrell to have lost their way. Toe boxes tend to be narrower than in the past, added support to some shoes that shouldn't have it, the ones that should have it have it in the wrong place...

These are casual/lifestyle shoes so don't expect good running or hiking performance. Also, being waterproof means your feet will sweat because the shoe won't breathe well.

Can someone explain why many Merrell shoes have such a wide front area? They feel loose and insecure when I try them at the store, but I have never owned a pair. Cool design but look at last photo (top view) - they look like mini swimming fins.

I've got wide feet and Merrells are one of the few brands where the outside doesn't wear out from being not wide enough!
