This Verbatim Nano USB 3.0 drive is mainly a compact, low cost way to add storage to devices that are hard to upgrade, including Raspberry Pi projects and other always on setups. The USB 3.2 interface is called out as faster than older USB 2.0 sticks, and one drive has stayed working for over a year in a software defined radio setup. The main concerns are slow write performance, especially at higher capacities, and repeated failure reports tied to Verbatim flash drives. It reads like a small, convenient storage fix when speed and long term reliability are not the priority.

That's why you plug it in and it stays plugged in, like the name suggests.
I've had one plugged in for my software defined radio setup for over a year, haven't removed it once. Still working fine

Angled enough to never get it out again 🤣
Or just use a cheap plastic automotive fuse puller to remove it

I've had 3 Verbatim usb flash drives and all have failed. Never again.
I looked into the components of a couple of different Verbatims I purchased last year. It was all the bottom of the flash memory barrel.
So no surprise they are failing at such rates ...

Don't these overheat because of the size and eventually "burn out"?

I've had failures with that brand in the past so I avoid it. The problem with good brands is how amazon mixes in fake products so you might buy the worst quality ever with sandisk labels. Some even fake how much GB they are even when you read it on your computer then find out it won't hold as much as it says. I mostly only buy memory from BestBuy. I avoid PNY cheapest also as verbatim.

It's assumed small size infrequent file size transfers like documents or music so if the hardware is good quality not really a problem.

There are dedicated tools to see the USB hardware inside. Then can judge right away if it's any good, before any use!

There are no tools for SanDisk sadly ...

Every flash drive of every brand i have owned has died. The stuff they put in usb flash drives is generally low quality. Microsd cards same thing.
