Community Reviews

This Kobalt five piece pliers set is best understood as a cheap backup kit for the house, car, or go bag, with cushioned grips and a handy mix of basic pliers. The set is also notably small, and the price sits far below comparable Channellock or Workpro bundles. The main concern is durability, with reports of the channel locks and diagonal cutter tip snapping, while other pieces have held up. Kobalt lifetime warranty coverage is also mentioned, making it a budget set with real tradeoffs.

The channel locks are absolutely trash. Was just doing a simple bath tub valve, snapped.

Is there a lifetime warranty? For $15 I'll give em a try, can't be worse then my Pittsburgh that rust while just sitting in the toolbox

The older I get, the more I care about quality pliers. These would be a good backup to keep in the house but if you want awesome channel locks, go with knipex. Yea, they are $40 for 1 but it's a pleasure using them.

I was just thinking the same thing. I went to look at a comparable set from Channellock. Maybe not the best comparison, but the 5 piece Channellock set I saw was $109 at HD.

This exact set has been floating around Lowes for a decade. I paid $10 years ago.

The tip on my diagonal pliers snapped second time I used them. I still have the others and they work fine, but I'd buy something else next time. My 2 cents.

As you, I bought this same set a long time ago. I think even lower than $10. So far none have broken.

Kobalt tools do have a lifetime warranty so if you break one they should replace it for free.

I have this set. They are okay. they're good for a go-bag or leaving as a set in the house/car. One thing I guess I didn't pay enough attention to was they are all kind of smaller than I expected them to be.

I probably bought them at the same price point, but without the channel locks.

And the tip from mine broke off as well...

Channel Locks are a brand. I think you mean the "joint pliers"

No more cheap sets for me. I bought a similar set at Home Depot and the side cutter wouldn't even cut a tie wrap. Do yourself a favor and buy good set. Tools are one thing you can't get cheap with.

Whats a good set, without channel locks. I just need a good cutter, long nose and wide plier/cutter. I am ready to get rid of my garbage sets that are now rusting or costing is coming off etc though these look like they have nice grips.

This is crazy to me that this these have snapped on people. I have an old pittsburg set in my car I was thinking of replacing with these. Now I don't think so.

Is this price available in store? Or only with online ordering for store pickup? Wife wants to have a Lowes/Tractor Supply date, and I need to know if I should buy them online ahead of time or just browse the tool aisle 🤣
