Honestly it's not perfect but it's a hell of a lot of PC for $800.

The 14400F is plenty capable still but it being on ddr4 means it will perform a bit worse -but it also means adding 16GB RAM later won't cost you two arms half a kidney and a liver sample 🫠. The B580 is around about a RTX 5060's performance, but in instances where the 8GB on the 5060 is inadequate it's closer to a 5060ti than a 5060 (but on average you're looking at 5060 performance).

Huge in comparison, but $250 less than a Steam Machine and significantly more powerful, especially at 1440p and / or ray tracing. Also double the storage and 50% more VRAM.

This is a strong budget 1440p gaming desktop built around an i5 14400F and Intel Arc B580, with performance framed around an RTX 5060 and sometimes closer to a 5060 Ti when 8GB cards run short. The 1TB SSD and 12GB of VRAM make it look especially capable for modern games and light to moderate editing, while the DDR4 platform keeps future RAM upgrades cheaper. The main knocks are the DDR4 spec instead of the listed DDR5, a prior $800 version that included 32GB DDR5, and concerns about Arc optimization, thermal throttling, and rough shipping or return handling. A solid value pick if the configuration tradeoffs fit your needs.

Budget 1440p gamers who want ray tracing headroom, because the Arc B580 is described as around RTX 5060 performance with extra VRAM and strong 1440p value.

Video editors who need a desktop with strong airflow, because the tower form factor is favored over mini PCs for cooling and can handle editing workloads.
MiuraHaruma DeeDon
Light multitaskers and older-game players who want more than enough horsepower, because it can handle lots of browser tabs and 2-plus-year-old titles easily.
PurpleLumber9970 MiuraHaruma
People upgrading RAM later on a budget, because DDR4 keeps future memory additions cheaper even though it runs a bit slower.

Shoppers expecting a flawless out-of-box desktop, because it can arrive with a torn box, dented case, and minimal padding.
rockn4ever88
People who need hassle-free warranty support, because returns can be difficult when the seller and manufacturer point to each other.
rockn4ever88
Gamers who want consistently polished Arc performance, because the B580 can be uneven and some games may not be optimized as well as Nvidia or Radeon cards.
Monkeytech
Heavy photo and video editors who need sustained thermals, because long sessions may trigger thermal throttling.

Common Questions (5)

It should have more than enough power for video editing and heavy photo/graphics work, and it is likely overkill for lighter non-gaming use. The main upgrade to consider for that kind of workload is more RAM, especially if you keep many browser tabs or large projects open.
PurpleLumber9970 MiuraHaruma DeeDon
It is positioned as a strong budget 1440p build, with the Arc B580 performing around an RTX 5060 on average and sometimes closer to a 5060 Ti when 8GB cards run out of VRAM. The i5-14400F is still capable, but DDR4 can reduce performance a bit.
Notadealio jvirk
The earlier $800 deal included 32GB DDR5, so this current DDR4/16GB configuration is a step down for the same price. That makes the current listing less attractive unless you specifically want the rest of the hardware at this price.
MrWrigleyField Figs_
The listing appears inconsistent: the title says DDR5, but the specs show DDR4. That means the current configuration should be treated as DDR4 unless the seller corrects the listing.
Figs_
The PC can arrive with very little padding, and one report described a torn box and dented case. Return and warranty support may be difficult because Walmart online returns were refused and ABS would not warranty it since Walmart sold it.

I am old and clueless about computers. My Mac is 10 years old and dying. I don't want to spend $1.5k on a new MaC. Is this computer good for someone who just wants a solid desktop for financial stuff, watching you tube, shopping, posting on forums. I don't game. This is probably TMI but my wife hit menopause and our (mine) sex life could use a little porn. She has given me the green light, lol.

Tmi but yeah this is overkill

Tempting. I don't game but I do need some video/graphics oomph for heavy photo/video editing. I was looking for something portable but I'm getting mixed feelings about thermal throttling during heavy sessions., And they're usually pricier. So now I'm thinking if this could fit the bill.
