Tempting, they will take very old phones like an s20 and still give over $200 trade in. At ~$1450 after trading in a $20 phone, it's a good deal. My fold 4 still works flawlessly. Need an excuse to upgrade.

Agree. The price and durability just isn't there yet and anyone who buys any fold just as well add insurance to their cost because you'll use it eventually.

256gb for such an expensive phone seems odd to me, but I guess it's caused by the AI-driven increase in prices of HDs, ram, etc..

Always this. Google and Samsung has better promotions after a Apple iPhone announcement.

Do you have a fold? Did you use a fold and had an issue? My household went through about 7 different fold models. Oldest one that we have is fold 3 we got 5 yrs ago and still works (though recently speaker has been an issue, we should upgrade). My son and I went from fold 3 to 6, my wife went from fold 3 to 5 (fold 3's hinge wasn't working right after she dropped it badly, traded it in for fold 5 and this was after 2 years of heavy use) Pretty much only issue we had (other than 1 hinge not opening all the way- will open to like 175 degrees not full 180) was the inner screen protector coming off. My older son, he replaced it recently DIY. When my screen protector started to come off on my Fold 3, I just took it off and used it as is for over a year before I upgraded it to Fold 6. So far, I am happy with durability of the fold.

I've had the Fold 7 since launch and no issues. I've traveled around the world with it. I just have a regular Amazon case on it. Don't be a fear mongerer.

I've had three foldables, the Flip 5, Flip 7, and now the Fold 8. That's 4 years of exclusively using foldable. Not a single issue.

I've bought my folds from eBay, the Fold 4 without warranty and the Fold 6 with Allstate warranty. The Fold 4 needed its inner screen protector replaced for around $80 or so, and the Fold 6 needed its inner screen replaced under that Allstate warranty. Here's hoping they last.

We went through 2x Fold 4's. One's screen was damaged by my 6 yrs old daughter, who apparently did not open it properly. The other bricked during one of the upgrades. Compared with all the bar style phones we have used, none have failed us. Even after many drops, sitting on them, etc...
