If you buy 5 to get the discount but end up returning one or more, does Costco refund the discounted price only and does the return affect the price for the others that you buy?

edit: yes, the discounted price is refunded

What about the remaining items I assume they will recalculate the price to non multi buy discount price?

I only did a Google search to find the answer, and it said the prices for the items you keep are not adjusted, so you keep the discount.

Buy more & save discounts are prorated across all eligible items. Costco's system does not typically recalculate these discounts during returns. Instead, you get that item's price after the prorated discount as your refund with no impact on other item pricing in the order.

As info, the "Buy More and Save" additional $20 off kicked in when I added the 6th item, not 5 as described. Could be user error on my end but, I thought I'd share. Thanks for sharing this great deal!

Discount is prorated on each item you purchase, so if you return 2 out of 5, you will lose the discount on two you returned, not all of the discount revoked.

I had this issue. An item in my cart had gone out of stock. To figure out which, try increasing quantity for each item in your car, one by one. You'll get an error for the one that's oos.
