RIDGID's 18V subcompact brushless drill and impact driver kit stands out for its lightweight, nimble feel and solid everyday power. The drill is described as light with plenty of torque, and the set has held up well in regular use for years. The lifetime warranty adds appeal, especially at a clearance price. The main concern is battery and trigger quality, with reports of dead batteries, broken triggers, and boxes that may have sat on shelves for a long time. A compact option that fits frequent use better than heavy-duty jobs.
The drill is light while still delivering strong power and torque for regular use.
The subcompact Ridgid tools are nimble and lightweight, making them easier to grab for frequent tasks.
The kit can be worth considering when the lifetime warranty is a priority for long-term ownership.
Some buyers report using the tools regularly for nearly three years without issues.
The impact driver trigger can arrive broken or feel flimsy, which may require a return.
The kit can arrive with dead batteries, including reports of both batteries being completely dead on arrival.
Battery age and shelf storage may contribute to dead-on-arrival batteries when stock rotation is poor.
The combo kit may be overkill for basic apartment or house needs compared with simpler alternatives.

I bought the sub compact drill kit on clearance for $50 a while back.
It might be worth snagging for the sub compact drill kit impact driver and extra drill and batteries

$100 is not bad, but $77 is great
Not sure how bad this experience has left a bitter taste in your mouth. You may not even want to spend another penny on RIdgid. Provided you wanted to keep the tools and the store might have sold out, I am curious if it's worth your time to even consider asking custom service at the store to REPLACE (instead of return for a refund) the same or better model?
