I don't see a place to add a trade-in device when I go through Costco. It replaces the $930 promo with $100 Costco shop card promo which is not worth it. Likely because promo terms say "May not be combinable with some offers, discounts, or promotions"
Some users reported success by adding the new phone with trade-in device to the cart first, then following the Costco link to check out. I didn't try that as I didn't want to risk losing the $930 off.

1) But then the BS came with the CREDITS paying out over the 24 (and now 36) months, so even if you paid off your balance to get out early, then you lose all your remaining credits, that would have paid it off for you.
2) Then more silent BS, if you have any ongoing promos, and multiple lines, you can't decrease your number of lines, or it terminates ongoing promos. I was told this was all promos - call TMO to verify before closing any, even if replacing.
3) Then forced rate increases for some grandfathered plans. Or worse, forced plan upgrades.
4) Then, in MY case, I got talked into a plan upgrade that was the same price, but taxes not included (allegedly "worth it" to get access to higher tier promos... NOPE)
5) Then, promos switch to 36 months? COME ON!
6) Then, in MY case AGAIN, the plan "upgrade" has apparently blocked me from qualifying for any "line on us" promos, 20 months and counting... I only have 3, not the limit.
7) Then, the plans start offering TEMPORARY "price locking" as a 'feature' that keeps your rates from going up? WTF?
8) Insult to injury, base/lowest level of service plans can't get sh!t for trade-in promos, but middle and high can trade in a dead iPhone 1 and get a $930 (typically higher when I've previously checked) discount??? - yes we COULD upgrade, but usually not worth increased monthly charges, unless high frequency hardware upgrader. -- but again, that's what TMO wants, tricking you into a plan upgrade, then a 36 month promo.
9) Not sure when this happened, if you change service plans, and you have free lines (line on us, BOGO), the conversion can wipe out your free line and turn it into one of the "included" lines, so you've lost your free line discount forever. Even if you somehow have a same/lower total NOW, the free line is gone next time you change plans, and may not be one of the "included in plan (paid by plan cost)" lines.
10) Now, they may have eliminated full promo benefits for Costco customers.
This is all WAY TOO MUCH, way too complicated and ridiculous. And I'm not even getting into overall price comparisons with other services.
Currently waiting out my 24 month promos so I have the option to look elsewhere without losing too much money.
