I have this phone from last year. It is sluggish. Anyone know what I can remove to speed it up
Removing/disabling the downloader apps helps. On mine, what helped most was doing a factory reset after the long string of updates. Changed it from totally unusable, to a decent low-end phone. FWIW, after removing (or disabling & removing all permissions) prior to the factory reset, the downloader apps did not come back.

you just want this moto play to harvest the time. to harvest you basically transfer your current number (with its min/txt/data) to this phone which will combine the mins/txt/data. then you wait a day and transfer the number back to your original phone.

You might want to check what you posted. there's no service included with the 2025 phone you linked. Phone only.

FYI, this phone sucks. We have 2 and it started out ok, but within a month and only a couple apps downloaded, it's become so slow and the screen becomes unresponsive. Really not good for anything other than being a burner phone.

I was gonna buy a moto g or similar phone and get my kid $5 a month service for emergencies only.

At $40 I get the phone and a years service which is obviously better.

But what happens after a year? Will tracphone unlock if I keep service for a year?

Or do I have to buy new tracphone service at $100 or so?

Thanks

you can get the phone unlocked after a year and use it on any carrier you like at that time. You own the phone.

A Tracfone one-year locked phone tries to make money again, doesn't it?

ideally you would buy another cheap phone with a service plan. then you would transfer your number to the new phone for another year. you can do this a couple of times to stack several years worth of service. if your previous phone is better, after transferring to harvest the new year of service, you can transfer back to your original phone.

I and my family have been using Tracfone for our cell service for 20 years, but we're now ready to switch. Ever since Verizon bought the company last year, their system has been VERY glitchy.
You mean completely unusable
