I've been reading that guy's saga. Fi said they'd set things right & apparently haven't. Not saying it doesn't happen. In fact I specifically said just the opposite.
But I can say it works both ways because it did for me. Everyone is going to have to do whatever they think works best for them is all.
Coming from a pretty poor situation, I'm happy to say it hasn't been perfect. But it worked well for me (so far!).

Tello is deprioritized T-Mobile. If you live in a congested area, you might not have the best service, but it works pretty well for most people.
KayOttic said that they had trouble with it, but it worked well for me. I couldn't tell a difference between Tello in my region and Google Fi. YMMV. It's cheap enough when the promos come around that it's worth giving it a shot.
The $19 Unlimited plan promo just ended, but they should have another one soon.
So I'm assuming Tello/Google should be reliable. Tello has a $15/month with 10gb data which will work for me unless I can snag this 75% off from Google for a year.
