Basically, these GE scales aren't actually measuring body fat % but using a mathematical equation to just give you a number.

the other one has wifi and a million reviews. I really do not need the 8 sensor functionalities.
I can explain. First, electrodes are paired (2 for each feet, 2 for each hand) as to measure and subtract resistance of the skin between each of them, that's the biggest obstacle before measuring through body insides.
After that's cleared, it's effectively 4 electrodes, each foot and each hand - where it measures resistance between each 2 of them. So that's 6 measurements when both hands and feet and 1 measurement if only the feet. Measuring through the feet only however does not a good path through the visceral (intestinal) fat - the one we care most for health reasons (and belly appearance). In contrast, measuring across - left hand to right foot and right hand to left foot, that goes across the belly region.
Now, are the 4-electrode scales completely useless? No - usually if one has visceral fat, one has subcutaneous fat as well and cross-legs measuring that can be approximation for the belly fat. But if that's good enough for you, just get a $20 scale from these - they have hundreds of thousands of reviews and cost 4 times less:

edit: sorry didnt realize someone already posted it.
But there is a "slick" solution.
Use free AI like ChatGPT.
Take your weight, height, and use a flexible tape measure to measure all of primary body measurement circumferences. Calves, thighs, hips, waist, forearms, biceps, chest, neck.
Feed that into AI and tell it based on that data to estimate your body fat percentage.
Its called the circumference method, and it can be surprisingly accurate just based on that data.
Super easy test: take your reading, then drink a few big glasses of water and step back on the scale.
Guaranteed it will show a higher fat percentage the second time round (because it is using a formula based solely on bodyweight). While objective reality is just the opposite.
What you'll see, in practice, is that these scales show a *higher* body fat percentage. Because in reality they are using a formula based solely on bodyweight, and water adds to your weight.
Aha! well it's simple - the load cells are on the bottom feet and they always measure the weight of the whole scale with you - and that includes the handle, regardless if you hold it or is back at the scale surface - the weight does not change. When you tare/zero the scale, the weight it measures accounts for the scale and handle, later to be subtracted from the measurement with you on top.

I've bought too many electronics that became bricks when the manufacturer ended support for the companion app.
This seems to be the case with most (all?) such "body composition/fat" scales nowadays. Feels the math is done in the app, after device sends raw measurements. Moreover, two different apps (FitIndex and FeelFit) show different fat % for the same scale FitIndex FA-03 (comparison measurements back to back), with the official app (FitIndex) being clearly and persistently in the wrong and showing way too high fat% for me. So results depend on tables/formulas baked in the app and manufacturer's official app may not "knows best".
The app for this GE CS10H is called "Fit Profile - GE branded scales" and published (for iOS) by "Global eFit Inc" - which also has another app "Feelfit" which happens to recognize both my FitIndex FA-03 and GE CS10H scales. That suggests to me those scales have common origin/reference design and there's likelyhood (though not guarantee) that if GE-branded app is gone, there will be another app that can read it
PS. "Feelfit" app measurements for fat on both FitIndex and GE scales agree, as well as Feelfit read off FitIndex scale - they all show around 23% fat marbling for me. The "odd one out" is FitIndex app with FitIndex scale combo, which is way off at 29%
