The Worx JawSaw is a safety focused cordless pruning saw that shines for quick tree trimming, fallen limb cleanup, and bundling small branches. The jaw design makes it feel safer than a standard chainsaw, and the reach helps with ground cuts and some higher work when paired with an extension. It handles most branches easily, but cuts above about 4 inches are not ideal, and the tool is heavier and less versatile than a normal electric chainsaw. It is a niche yard cleanup tool with real convenience if that form factor fits the job.

False. This thing is amazing for safely cutting branches. I'd let my 7 year old use it.
Uh not really because if it wasn't for the safety jaws you can use it in a lot more ways, therefore it has less utility. Its very narrow purpose is where I'm a little hung up on this and that's where I think others are too. I don't think I'd let a 7 year old use this but you do you...

Based on what I'm seeing where it's not really good with branches beyond 4" I'd probably just use a sawzall tool for that sort of thing unless I had a ton to do...

I don't have this, but would if I didn't already have several chainsaws. If you don't already have a chainsaw and need one, get this one or other similar "safe" chainsaw. If your going to get your very first chainsaw and it's not this one.... do yourself a huge favor and look up chainsaw accident statistics of where the most injuries are and how bad they are. Chainsaws are no joke. over 80% of chainsaw injuries are open wounds, and about the same percentage will be treat and release from the hospital something like 15% are dead serious and need transfer to a larger hospital or admitted for several days. I think the average, AVERAGE chainsaw injury needs 112 stitches. Again, chainsaws are no joke. Something like this will drop your chance of injury a whole lot. Oh and pole chainsaws are a lot safer since the blade is further from you when things go wrong.

It's a "chainsaw" for soys with too much disposable income and zero foresight. You could buy FOUR $20 Seesii style chainsaw kits (8 batteries total, 8 chains total) for this sale price and still have $7 left over. Even 1 of those cheap saws will be: Easier to change chains or sharpen them, able to cut limbs or trunks nearly 12" in diameter without too much work, smaller in overall size and weight, easier to clean and untangle grasses/twigs.
Unironically using "soys" = itty bitty pp

If it did I'm guessing some people would "flock" to this deal.

I purchased this from Woot! for a few dollars less but the packaging was terrible. It was in an Amazon flimsy outer box then in a Worx box that was so flimsy that I'm surprised it made it to my house without any damage to it. Also, not packed in the Worx box professionally. Wondering if the one I received was a return from another buyer.

It can cut up to a four inch branch. Doesn't seem very useful, I can use a manual saw for that

I received one of these as a gift around 15 years ago (give or take). I also have a standard chainsaw. I liked this for the grab and go convenience, when I just needed to make a few cuts of a fallen limb. You're welcome to read that as I preferred it because I'm lazy. Too true. I misused it by utilizing its length to do a lot of one-handed cuts on the ground without bending over (see? lazy! and my ex says I'm good-for-nothing, too) and it worked well for that. Recently the push handle broke (not a design flaw, it fell from around 20' right onto the back of the handle). I decided to replace it with one of these newfangled, cheapo "pruning" handheld chainsaws. To be honest, the pruning chainsaw is working just fine as a replacement, it still has the grab and go convenience. I might even like that the pruning saw can get into tight spaces that the jaw saw could not. Point is that I didn't hate my time with the jaw saw. It's a well made tool that is definitely worth this price. If you prefer the form-factor, I don't have a single bad thing to say about that. But if you prefer the handheld pruning chainsaw form-factor, I still have nothing bad to say about that. Comparing this to a standard chainsaw is an apple-to-oranges argument, in my opinion though.

Yes, if that pole is made of Aluminumiumiumium or fiberglass.

This has been the best, safest chainsaw I've ever used. If you have branches over 4" it's not great. But you can handle most branches very easily. There is also an extension that is great for high situations.
While I can see how it is safer, its ability to deal with cramped spaces and/or when many many branches are near each other would seem to make this design limited. I'd much rather have a small electric chainsaw/hacksaw (8" or 10" bar) for branch trimming or a larger chainsaw (14" to 18" bar) for cutting up thick felled branches or trees.

I have corded version and never use it. It seemed like a good idea, but is pretty heavy, and I'm familiar enough with chainsaws that I never use this thing.
It's not a horrible idea if chainsaws terrify you.(Chainsaws are probably the most dangerous type of saw, so I'm certainly not judging)
I didn't even think about the weight.

Milwaukee makes a similar functioning yard cleanup tool called the hatchet (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u...NGoM&t=14s). There are two flavors of the hatchet, M12 or M18. MW's M12 hatchet is 4lbs (wo battery) whereas this is double the weight at 8lbs (wo battery). Also the M12 hatchet is a one handed tool (whereas this tool must be used two handed) and the hatchet has a significantly smaller footprint.

The best thing I could say about this tool is maybe the reach it gives (but if you wanted reach I'd get an electric pole saw).
