This cordless fuel transfer pump is best for moving gas from heavy cans into small tanks without lifting and spilling. It can deliver a steady flow, and that makes it handy for generators, mowers, ATVs, and awkward fill locations. The intake is large, so it barely fits a normal gas can and is too wide for most car filler necks, though it may work better with diesel openings. The pump also lacks speed control, auto shutoff can be finicky, and similar units have been reported to leak near the battery over time, so it suits simple transfer jobs more than precision use.

Do not use this in the vicinity of UK Royal Air Force bases, particularly ones hosting US forces.

Got something similar but a version that runs on AAs (was $20 so you can save some money). It works but leaves a lot of gas at the bottom of the can, I imagine this has the problem as the bottom design is the same.

I use mine as once a month I get $1 off a gallon up to 35 gallons so when I fill my car I fill up four 5 gallon gas cans and then put them in the car so I save more on gas.

So say I left gas in a generator for multiple years (but never ran it)...can this help me pull that gas out so I can put in clean gas and have my generator (which has never been started) start up?
Harbor Freight has siphon hoses starting at about 5 bucks for a gravity siphon-to-battery siphon pump for 15 bucks on sale.

For no particular reason... can this get gas out of cars?
No the intake side is big and barely fits inside a normal size gas can with no room to spare. The filler neck on a car is much thinner. THis would not pump gas from a car, only from a gas can into a car.

Most cars made in the last few decades (actually every one I am familiar with) has a screen down in the filler neck that prevents this. I have been looking for something to connect to the Schrader port under the hood on a fuel manifold so I can use my vehicle's tank to fill up my mower/atv. Like 2 gallons from my car wont even be noticeable, and my car's tank is much more safe and convenient to transport fuel. I will have to look into it a bit more.
I had a similar idea.. like can a fuel pump be attached to that valve to get you home when your fuel pump dies.

You can't siphon from most newer vehicles. That being said the hose/pump is too big to fit in a gas fill neck but it might fit into a diesel fill neck.
With the price of diesel these days....

I would think you could just pull off a hose from the tank for that

When I suck hard enough I can reach 3.9 GPM. Also a fish tank transfer cable with a manual pump can also work in a pinch.
