I've been using a reconditioned version of this trimmer for two summers and it has performed flawlessly for my use. I should have dumped the 2 cycle years ago.

reviews on GW site are not good. no replacement part for trimmer head which seems to wear out quickly, bump feed doesn't work well, string rewinding is not easy.

any thoughts from those who have it, are these complaints valid?

I have a different greenworks trimmer and they are definitely on the heavy side, 19 lbs, buy it if you want a good workout instead of buying a much lighter one

It's a little tricky at first, and I had to pull up a YT video the first few times, but now I am a pro. The head doesn't come off like a typical trimmer. Instead, you feed the line through the hole on the side, then push and turn the head/lid, like opening a medicine bottle, unntil the line is loaded.

Then you do a crotc karate chop and yell HALLELUJAH!
Seriously though, once you get the hang of it, loading the line is surprisingly easy.

Greenworks batteries are another discussion. They are hit and miss. I have golden handcuffs with Greenworks since I own all their 80V products, but I am mostly happy with thme.

Leaf blower was my first GW item. Then I got a mower. Then a trimmer. Trimmer was my first real disappointment. It didn't come close to how my gas trimmer work. It may be enough for grass trimming only. But if it hit dirt or anything it struggled.

If it's the one you have to load manually, it stinks and the bump doesn't work at all. Tons of problems likely due to my lack of winding skill. If it's the one that you just turn to load, it's great and makes life so much easier. Bumping it works very well. I have both. I bought the 2nd for the battery and ended up giving away the old manual load one because I never touched it after getting the turn load one.

Spray some silicone lubricant into each side of the string's feed hole to optimize string feed. You can also attach a bolt to the top of the SpeedFeed 400 to prevent trimmer head wear when bumping to feed the line.
