It's actually a Zen4 CPU with an updated name. It's a rebadged Ryzen 5 8540U which is basically a rebadged Ryzen 5 7545U. Generationally, it's pretty similar in time frame to the GeForce RTX 4050.

More bizarre is when such deals get upvoted. A few dollars more and you can get a 5050, or even a 5060 and possibly a better processor.

Is there any scenario where you should not just save up 300 more dollars for a 5070 laptop?

Upvotes have not made sense here in years. Just like all the down votes people receive for providing pertinent product information. We are in a generation where people leave 1 star PRODUCT reviews because Amazon was a day late delivering their package. It's maddening.

Yeah....none. There are pretty much NO good deals on 5070s anymore. There all in the $1500-$2000 range now. $300 more might get you a low end 5060.

In today's market giving us any graphics card and RAM is an act of kindness and charity from pc manufacturers and we should be grateful to pay high prices for our crumbs.
