Is a new model on the horizon?
If, however, you want to keep your video data to yourself and protect your own privacy, get yourself an old computer from your garage, install the free open source network video recorder (NVR), and a camera that outputs an RTSP stream, e.g. Reolink. That setup will keep all of your video in your own house and completely private.
You DON'T have to contribute to the surveillance state just to be able to see who is at your front door.
Not everybody has the ability to do that, you know. And try as you might, your Reolink app, notifications and configurations will still not be as good as a Ring. doorbell
But many people don't care about giving up their privacy or protecting their family,so they will still buy ring. That's on them.
