Community Reviews

This Verizon Pixel 11 Pro deal is mainly about getting a heavily discounted flagship and then verifying carrier unlock after activation. The strongest upside is the low out of pocket price, with store pickup and immediate activation often leading to an unlocked phone that works with Google Fi, Mint, T Mobile, or other eSIMs. The main catch is Verizon's confusing unlock behavior, since some units stay locked for hours or days and the bootloader remains permanently locked. Cancellation usually needs chat or phone support, and full month bills or prorated charge adjustments can take follow up.

Don't forget, phone will be locked for the entire time, can't be paid early and bootloader is locked. On top of that, it's really not a deal. You lose your savings with the monthly plan pricing which is crazy. You're better off buying directly from Google and going with us mobile or Visible.

Which eSIM is that? If it's not Verizon then that's it. You can cancel the line now and make sure it's disconnected right away.

How soon should you cancel? As soon as the phone arrives or after you have placed the order?

As soon as you activate the phone and verify it's unlocked. There's not much point in rushing to cancel as activation fee for this is already waived, Verizon policy is if you cancel within 30 days of opening you will only be charged a prorated amount (Well they will most likely send you a full months bill but you chat to waive most of the charges)

I got "At this time, Verizon is not able to complete your transaction with your current payment method. Please select a new payment method in order to continue." when trying to place the order.

It's a relatively new card.

and just FYI, Verizon chat said if you cancel your line early, you will have to pay back the discount amount over 36 months.

No that's BS. This is from the Verizon page linked in the post

"You'll pay full retail price $479.99 due today. Tax may be charged on your monthly bill or due at sale based on delivery or store location".

The full retail price means your transaction is done today, there can't be a charge per month after that.

Good news, I can confirm that this phone is unlocked after initial activation, no need to contact Verizon, got it working without the need to contact Verizon. What didn't worked: transfer esim from old phone/use "add new esim"/ manually adding the new imei number to replace my old one. What's worked: ask Metro to provision my new esim based on the imei of the old phone/ I used the generic QR (as mentioned before) using the phone camera, it detected the metro plan and added it, phone calls, texts, Internet all working!!! I'll try the line deactivation tomorrow and report

Update: was managed to contact an agent and cancel the line, couldn't waived the 50$ first month bill, but otherwise, no hidden bills, maybe others could be luckier, however, even with that, still a very good deal

For those who were asked to submit a copy of your DL and utility bill, did you have to also call Verizon or did submitting those push the order forward?

Damn.. wish this deal was available at launch for the Pixel 11 series. I paid around 460 for the Pixel 11 Pro 256gb after promo+gift cards+cash back+ plus trading my Pixel 7.
Also, not sure why people are bitching about locked bootloader? The clean Android os on this Pixel or any previous Pixel is so smooth and awesome. Plus you get security updates and annual updates first and directly from Google for 7 years! Not sure why people would chose another Android os over the clean Android intended for Pixel phones. I'm typing on the Pixel 11 Pro right now and I am loving this phone since I got it. The screen, the battery life, the smoothness of the is and that amazing camera system are my favorite pros for this phone. Don't think you will regret it if you get it unless you want to flex on hardware specs.
