Community Reviews

This Verizon Pixel 11 Pro deal is mainly about getting a heavily discounted flagship and then verifying carrier unlock after activation. The strongest upside is the low out of pocket price, with store pickup and immediate activation often leading to an unlocked phone that works with Google Fi, Mint, T Mobile, or other eSIMs. The main catch is Verizon's confusing unlock behavior, since some units stay locked for hours or days and the bootloader remains permanently locked. Cancellation usually needs chat or phone support, and full month bills or prorated charge adjustments can take follow up.

google fi also same, for some folks like me - your google server automated process theory ddnt work , they ask us to wait 35 days -now question is can i cancel the line ? or not , even ticket opened didn't help, any suggestions ? quoting /pointing wording didnt help ? return device will hurt 50$ resocking fee, keep device for more than 35 days , hurt 80$ service plan feee? holdng tiger tail now !!!
Many here have it unlocked but yours clearly is not unlocked. Did you reboot your phone to trigger a reregistration on the network and poke Verizon servers to unlock. I will wait for 24 hours. If its still unlocked after that you should chat with CS and point them to their own unlock policy which again should happen automatically (but I have seen 24 hours wait before)

https://www.verizon.com/about/con...ing-policy

"Devices purchased directly from Verizon are locked to our network. Devices will be unlocked automatically when purchased at full retail price or if the device financing agreement balance is paid in full."

FYI, another free eSIM to try that doesn't require CC is Firsty.

The verizon line has already started when you placed the order. You can activate the phone later but you have to do it and check if it is unlocked. before you cancel the line
I'm just concerned about the date of the line being started; i want to delay it a few days if possible

You can first try logging into your account and see if you can order the phone with a new line. Then you cancel the line.

The line starts from the time you place the order so the phone activation won't defer it.

my rep gave me no hassle to cancel the line. My call was disconnected immediately after cancelling. The terms and conditions on the disconnection clearly showed how much I was due at the next cycle ($1-2 dollars) and $0 afterward.
Could you please share what you saw in the disconnect terms regarding the payments due?
I also canceled immediately (day after activation though) and it's really not clear what exactly is going to happen at the end of the month.
shows at the top: September $56.27, October -$42.52, Monthly $0.00 , last bill 0.00, payment received 0.00, current balance 0.00
It shows as if I'd get a "refund" (minus amount) on the next bill, I'm pretty sure(?) I didn't pay yet for the first month only on the phone.
The rep when I asked to cancel immediately said something about the pro-rate return being as bill credits for the next month so I won't get them if I cancel immediately, which doesn't really make sense in general since there is obviously no next month..

Last year when I canceled and returned a phone with Consumer Cellular I was surprised when the cash back still came through. I won't hold my breath, but I don't feel like waiting around until probably February to make a few extra dollars.
Spend 30-90 dollars to get $600 is certainly worth it

I had $150 pending, I should've specified. I don't find a ton of value in that other portal so I didn't even check it. I wasn't even targeted for it apparently.

Yeah credit in the next bill is what they typically do but you can insist on applying the credit on the current bill or wait to see what happens. For me when I did this Pixel 9 pro XL for $399 deal it was 5 days from the billing when the final amount showed prorated charges, before that it was changing daily.

No, see the comment above. Once you pay in full which is what you are doing in this case device will be unlocked.

Man, my experience was horrible. First of all, I have excellent credit like 835 and I had to do the document upload. They said there was a problem with my credit report because I didn't indicate that I lived at an address which was my daughter's house. Now I've never been a cosigner or had anything to do with the purchase of her house. So of course I didn't say that I lived there. They finally accepted my credit. Well they wouldn't let me complete my purchase online so I had to do it through the rep and he kept saying that my purchase of $480 was just a down payment and I had to finish paying over 36 months. I said that wasn't right and that 480 was a full retail price and he said no, that's just the down payment. When I asked him when the phone was unlocked he said that was after you made the full payment of $1,200 or whatever. After 36 months. I told the guy there was no way I was going to go for that and I hung up. So since I can't purchase this online guess I'm out of luck

If you pay that $480 price and do the simplicity plan then you should be good to go even if the customer support says otherwise but it is of course a risk compared to ordering online by yourself.

went through the same shit. Had to get another person whose been living at my address for awhile to order it for me. You could also try in store? Not sure if they honor the price there but could work. No idea why verizon is such a PIA about buying a dumb phone.
