Their cancellation policy states no activation fee within 3 days and then only prorated charges if you cancel your line within 30 days.

Community Reviews

This Verizon Pixel 11 Pro deal is mainly about getting a heavily discounted flagship and then verifying carrier unlock after activation. The strongest upside is the low out of pocket price, with store pickup and immediate activation often leading to an unlocked phone that works with Google Fi, Mint, T Mobile, or other eSIMs. The main catch is Verizon's confusing unlock behavior, since some units stay locked for hours or days and the bootloader remains permanently locked. Cancellation usually needs chat or phone support, and full month bills or prorated charge adjustments can take follow up.

To be honest, how many still install custom OS? For 95% of consumers, this is a null point.
A lot and more now than ever before while Goog is handing over search history with fake warrants and locking people out of their phones who are trying to get medical help for their kids. LG listening in. Big tech is invasive. So yes, custom ROM is still a very big thing and will continue to be for advanced and average users alike.

Store won't take back without restock fee wow
You should contact Mint and provision a new eSIM. It's unlocked if it's working on Fi so it's something on Mint which is preventing the transfer for an existing eSIM. You really don't want to return an unlocked phone and pay a restocking fee on top.

What's weird with the unlock requested via chat is the rep asked me to confirm that I received an email for each device/line that they were unlocking. The email looks a little off, like it was a generic template with a customized messageBig Grinevice lock page still shows these devices are locked so just waiting now.FWIW, I do plan to stay with verizon at least while the C1 gc back is approved.
Don't go by what verizon's website says. Did you try downloading Google Fi app and do a trial for free and see if that worked?

Check with the google Fi free trial eSim if the phone is unlocked. I think there are some instructions in the thread about moving eSIMs which you can try later.
Mine is unlocked, Xfinity Mobile is able to add the phone IMEI to my account. It's just they have a hard time doing esim transfer from old phone.

From the Web: Virtually the entire global smartphone population—over 99.9% of users—does not use a custom operating system.
Depending on how you count active devices or unique individuals, between 4.9 billion and 7.6 billion devices run the official, factory-installed operating systems provided by Apple, Google, and their manufacturing partners

Fewer than 4 million active devices worldwide currently run mainstream custom Android operating systems,

So no the average person is not going to care the bootloader is locked.

That's the old policy which is replaced with a new policy in Feb. It's 35 days of wait at most.
