Visit the deal page on a desktop browser. Also do store pick up if possible to get the phone unlocked right away otherwise you might have to wait for 35 days for unlock.
You can select new customer and pay in full to get the $480 price. You can then select simplicity plan. Once you get the phone you can just cancel the line. Verizon unlocking policy states the devices are unlocked immediately if you pay in full. Their cancellation policy states no activation fee within 3 days and then only prorated charges if you cancel your line within 30 days.
***You might have to wait for 35 days before the phone is unlocked if you don't do store pickup in person as Verizon considers their online store purchase with delivery not secure. You can cancel your line nonetheless as the device will still unlock automatically after 35 days****

This Verizon Pixel 11 Pro deal is mainly about getting a flagship Pixel at a steep upfront discount, with the best value coming from store pickup, activation, and then canceling the line after verifying unlock status. The phone can work with other carriers like Google Fi, Mint, T Mobile, or Xfinity once unlocked, and the account often shows it as paid in full. The main catch is Verizon's confusing unlock behavior, since shipped orders sometimes stay locked for days or 35 days, and the bootloader remains permanently locked. Cancellation can also trigger full month bills or bill adjustments that may need chat support.

I purchased for in-store pickup. Verizon never sent me a confirmation that my pickup was ready, but when I checked my order status the next day it was available in my local store. The pickup was painless; they checked my ID, grabbed the phone, and I was out of the door in less than five minutes, no upselling. After I got home and activated the phone on Verizon, I waited a few hours and was then able to install a trial Google Fi eSim no problem, confirming it was not carrier-locked. The Verizon website also showed my device being paid in full. I waited until the following day to chat with a Verizon rep to cancel.
The chat process is where things started to go awry. I spent over an hour on the chat just to cancel my service and try to ensure I was not charged for the full first month. The chat agent never seemed to fully understand what I was asking for (prorated credit for the remainder of the month). I pointed her to the return policy but she just kept talking about the activation fee. Finally, she seemed to understand, and in the disconnect confirmation link she sent me it showed a credit for the unused portion of the first month of service. She said this would be reflected in my bill within a few hours. The next day, I tried to check my bill to make sure the credits went through. However, since my account was now cancelled, I was unable to log in on the main page; I had to do some Googling to realize that cancelled accounts have to log in at https://secure.verizon.
So ultimately I had to call customer service and make my way to an agent. Thankfully, he immediately grasped what I was asking for and confirmed that the previous agent did not actually make the requested adjustment. He submitted the credit and said it would show up in 3-5 business days. I can't confirm this went through yet, but I am much more confident this time.
TL;DR: great deal, worked out for me, but Verizon's customer service can make things harder than necessary

Kind of frustrating since you have to go through an AI bot that sounds human and repeatedly ask for a human agent. The human rep put me on hold while he tried to apply a credit and/or adjust my full bill (~$51) to the 2 days of service. Said he could not and that I would eventually receive a credit on my next bill and then I could request a check be cut/sent back to my credit card. He told me not to pay the current bill if I didn't want to pay now even though the subsequent bill would not be generated until after the due date.
All of this was pretty confusing as I could see my next estimated bill already on the website and it didn't show any pending credits. Anyways, I'm already expecting to have to call again through this nightmare customer service tree once the next bill posts.

Update from this customer service fiasco. Chat function is not enabled anymore since we have to login through the "disconnected line" website, thus we have to go through calling in, which I did again.
