Can you tilt it so your 50" TV is 90 degrees from the wall?
I have a 55" I want to be able to have it 90.degrees

That is going to depend on the bezel width on the side of the screen. A 55" screen is 48 inches wide plus the bezel width. That is 24 inches without counting the bezel. Since this only extends out 16.6 it would not be able to fully go 90 degrees unless you attach the screen brackets to the plate off center. Then you "might" be able to get it to 90 degrees but you would have to do some math to confirm it works based on the dimensions.
