I inherited one of these but it's a fixed length and somewhat taxing on the back, does the telescopic one solve that problem because you can get it to the length that is comfortable?
I've read the Powerload models aren't as good as the ones that have Line IQ. Should I hold off for a deal with Line IQ?
For reference the one with Line IQ is currently $299 and comes with a bigger 4mAh battery. It's been on a daily deal sale before for $249. But note that it's heavier by about 2.5lb (4 mAh battery is about 2lb heavier than the 2.5 mah one). I currently have a functioning gas trimmer and no 4mAh EGO batteries in my collection so I think I'll hold off for a deal on the Line IQ model.

yes, do not get the multihead strimmer its very heavy and not adjustable. found out the hard way. good in theory but this one is way better IMO. I use this one weekly. its good with the 2.5 on a small yard. I could see using a 4 or 6 AH if its a big yard.

I was just trimming all my yard and driveway weeds for the winter with this combo yesterday, great price.
Heads up: do not like the EGO foam handles too "floppy" IMO. I swap out with the commercial square plastic shaped handle for better control. you can order via Powerplusparts etc.

I have only read the opposite on the IQ ... that it never functions properly. It either never lets out line or constantly lets out line when not needed. I have the multi-head system with Powerload and it works great. Sometimes the string takes a bit of twisting to get thru but winds perfect.
For those who own this, do the bump heads wear out fast?
if and when they do wear out are replacement heads available at a reasonable price?
I ask because I was considering a greenworks comparable model on sale and there were tons of complaints in user reviews that the bump head wears out and replacement heads are never in stock. So I'm considering this instead. Thanks

Well of course, if the trimmer in question has LineIQ it sucks and if it doesn't, LineIQ is the greatest thing since sliced bread.
Been running a Powerload head for two seasons now and the feed hasn't fussed once, the trick is seating the line square before it winds. LineIQ is a nice-to-have, not a pay-more-for. With the battery and charger in the box, $159 is the right buy.
