The Retroid Pocket 5 is a compact Android retro handheld that stands out for strong emulation at its price, especially PS2, GameCube, Wii, and much of the Switch library, with some light Steam and Android gaming possible too. The 5.5 inch OLED screen, larger controls, and clean black design are recurring highlights, and newer batches appear to ship with 12GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. Setup takes some tinkering, and the device is not truly pocketable. The small screen and 60Hz streaming latency are the main drawbacks, and more demanding Xbox or PlayStation 3 gaming still calls for a pricier handheld.
People using it as a streaming-and-light-PC side device, because it can run Android games, light PC games, and a limited selection of Steam titles.
Retro handheld fans playing PS2, GameCube, and lighter Switch games, because the device runs those systems well with driver tweaks and upscaling.
Players who want a compact Android emulation device for short trips, because it fits in a bag easily and can be somewhat pocketable in relaxed pants or shorts.
Parents buying a handheld for Minecraft Java or PS1-era indie games, because those lighter games fit its performance level without needing a bigger upgrade.
People who need a larger display for long sessions, because the 5.5-inch screen can feel too small and strain older eyes.
Players who want a true pocketable handheld, because it still needs a bag or sling and is not comfortably pocketable.
Gamers expecting smooth PS3 or Xbox 360 emulation, because Android support for those systems is still poor or not yet handled well on this chip.
TV players wanting a console-like Android docked experience, because HDMI output can add noticeable input lag.

I bought the odin 2 based on all the reviews and hype, and when connected to an hdmi source, the input lag is so bad you can't jump on a goomba in super mario world. They did patch it, but it was still noticable and bad.
If you are going to play exclusively on the handheld screen its fine, but if you want a switch like experience, you are better off with a linux device.
Just wanted to echo this post that if you're thinking for a gift in the next couple weeks, I wouldn't wait. Esp as 11/11 approaches

For perspective:
- Regular iPhone is over 6"
- iPhone Pro Max is almost 7"...
- Steam Deck is 7"...
- Asus ROG Ally is 7"...
- Legion Go is 8"...
Personally, I need a much bigger screen for my old eyes.Whether PS3 or XBox emulation is mature or not on Android is not the point. My comment was addressing "why people want more powerful android devices". This is ABSOLUTELY a reason. The emulators are improving and are now at the point where you can run some XBox/PS3 games on a S8 Elite chip.
